I know this has been discussed, but why won't the players move off and accept the salary cap. Football and basketball have them and the players have plenty of money. The players think they are bigger than the sport.

I am a Blue Jackets fan and it pisses me off that at 19 Rick Nash led the NHL in goals and as fans we are missing what could be his prime years. Same can be said for many young players. It is sad to see Yzerman, Messier, Francis, Chelios and guys like that go out...but ALL of them are on the far down side of their careers. I am more dissapointed in missing players' primes.
