ccm/ reebok flex rating

Yeah, with Reebok in the market now I think the Mod folks will have to update the flex and pattern info (which by the way is very helpful)!

I second that 2-way! Easton seems to own the base measure for flex. Why not just go with that one?

I can't see how someone can patent a measuring system, but what do I know, I'm just a rec hockey player who works in an office from time to time. Just ask the NHL, what I think doesn't matter. :P

This is taken from a post on another forum. Very helpful.

Direct from CCM's Stick Director:

50KP/X-stiff = roughly 125 pro flex

45KP/Stiff = roughly 110

40KP/Regular = roughly 100

35KP/Mid = roughly 85

30KP/Light = even softer flex

20KP/Junior = junior flex

(KP is the force required in newtons per meter squared to bend the shaft 1". The higher the number the more force required to bend the stick.)

I think that 40 kp = 85 flex. Also, when you step up from a junior to intermediate, it is a pretty big jump. Especially in being able to flex the stick on the ice, not just in the store. I think that if you are using a junior now and it feels right, stick with er.

i dont think that junior to intermediete is a big jump at all.... most kids had to go from junior to senior before the crazy intermediete stick craze reccently. I'd say go for the intermediete if your hands feel good around it, the stiffer flex should help build your strengtht an int. if you arent comfortable with it.

well smithy19, I am almost the same as you, 5-2 118 lbs though, and I have both an intermediate flexed stick, and junior, and personally i like the intermediate better...50 flex is just too much for me, I like the feel of the 65 flex though, my friend has a 65 flex Easton ultralite, so maybe you can wait til the 05 Easton line comes out, and try their 65 flex, maybe you'll like it more
