Removing extension tendon from pro stock Bauer stick

I have a pro stock vapor stick that was way too tall and needed to be cut down. Unfortunately, the lie is lower than I’m used to and I need to add another inch or two back to get the stick to play the way I want.

 

what’s the best way to remove the factory tendon that’s left over so I can add a new extension?

Why not just cut it to the height you want? Why go through the trouble to remove a permanently attached extension and then add another slightly shorter one?

Use a heat gun to heat the glue and pull the extension out.

If you struggle to pull the extension out, remove the end cap and use a pair of pliers for better grip. Keep heating the glue and pull/wiggle the extension out.
