Toe cap punching question...

Recommended Posts

I've got a pair of 100k pro's that I love.  Plenty of life left in them.  As many know, the inside of the toe cap area on those and some other recent CCM skates has a bit of a bump out on the inside.  Only bothers me occasionally.  But I am curious if anybody knows if using a device like this ( its marketed as a boot punch for ski boots ) on the circled area could help punch it out some?  I'd assume a little heat and maybe some light pressure sitting overnight should make it happen, but i dont want to destroy anything incase i'm wrong.  Thoughts?   Thanks !!

Yes, you can use a ski boot punch to punch out small pressure points, but you rather buy one with longer handles to get better leverage.

The club i coach for has one, and iv’e used it a couple of times to punch out the toe caps on my Vapor 3x in the same place that the ribcors give you problems.
It works great, but you need to heat up the plastic to the point that it gets moldable but still being careful not to melt the plastic.
