Swapping CCM holders to TUUK's or Powerflys

Recommended Posts

I am curious if any of you have experience completely swapping holders, for example swapping the CCM Speedblade XS holder for a Bauer Powerfly or TUUK Lightspeed edge holder. I find the CCM holder is too neutral for me and I am used to Bauer skates forward leaning pitch, which their holders help with. I have had to switch from Bauer skates unfortunately due to pressure points/foot pain which my new CCM FT6 Pros have solved, I just want to fix this neutral pitch problem. Before you ask, I've messed with every profiling there is, I am more so interested with swapping holders. This will involve most likely drilling new holes/patching old ones for the rivets to fit, have any of you gone through this process?

Thanks in advance

Bauer , CCM, and Warrior all have the same hole patterns so you can easily swap the holders without drilling new holes.

Have you considered adding a shim? That might solve your issues if you’re looking for a more forward pitch without profiling. This is very easy to add/remove, is not permanent, and can be adjusted larger or smaller to dial in exactly what you want. Look at CCM’s new Vizion skate if you’re not sure what I’m referring to.

Talking about shims always reminds me of this video:

So it’s pretty painless just swapping the holders from a placement standpoint with the rivet spacing for example a light speed edge being installed on a pair of FT6 pros?
