Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im new to the modsquad and have recently snapped the blade off my vapor xx. What blades will fit the shaft and what will i have to do to get these to fit?

Well you can fit any blade in there depending on where you cut it. You most likely want to keep the taper so only tapered blades (i.e. synthesis, r2, l-2, xv, etc.) will fit in it. You have to cut the shaft just above all of the epoxy that's used to hold the blade in there. Just use a keychain or something to tap on the shaft until you hear where the epoxy ends and the hollow shaft begins. It's going to be shorter than usual but there's nothing that you can do about that.

I suggest you look elsewhere if 'feel' is big deal for you. IMO, the synthesis blades are probably the worst composite blades on the market right now in terms of feel. Go with a tapered innovative blade if you have the chance. They're fantastic blades.

my lhs is getting in their OPS Repair kit next week and it's around $25CDN to repair they said. If you liked your OPS blade you could just ask your LHS and see if they're gonna get the kit any time soon so you can fix it, otherwise get a blade. I got a broken Vapor XX as well and it broke quite high up making the stick pretty short with a 6"plug. I bought a regular Hybrid Pro blade but it's still a bit short.

Theyre a bit heavier because the tapered innos have a longer hosel by a bit, which may help add length to your broken shaft, so give it a try. A t-flex wouldnt be a bad idea either

Yeah I agree I have the Inno tapered and its far better than a synthesis blade. Although if your lookin for better feel, and you cant find the Inno you might wanna try a Synthesis Si-core.
