Blade weights

Recommended Posts

Hey I was looking for opinions on which Blade weighs the lightest/feels the lightest because of balance with the L-2 shaft. The XV,Synthesis, Synth. Si-Core or the 6K? thanks.

According to the literature in the Christian booth, their wood tapered blade is 120g. I believe the synth was second.

I didnt want to start a new topic, I am looking for a lightweight taperd blade for my r2xn10, i have an xv lindros in there now and its real blade heavy and i hate the curve. I am not too concerend on what brand becuase i can use just about any heel curve, so what the lightest tapered blade that I should try out?

i have a synthesis blade in my broken M-1, and I love it. I love the feel of the Synthesis, and haven't had any of the splitting problems guys on here have talked about. the blade is really light and my stick feels perfectly balanced

I have 3 different Christian short hosel, tapered blades: S5, S1, and 6 customs based on a Sherwood Spezza. The weights respectively are 157 g, 150 g, and 149 g. By any standard they are light wood blades, but there is no way they're 120 g (composite Synthesis is 140 g, composite R2 is 129 g). As an aside, all of the newer Christian blades I have tried are of very high quality and consistency in all respects.

I agree, the XV blade when paired with a light shaft like a Flyweight or an R2XN10 results in a relatively blade heavy combo (the Lindros I had was 155 g, and the Hossa was 165 g). I don't think you'll find a lighter blade than the composite R2 at 129 g (they do have a very distinct "sharp" or ceramic feel to them; some people seem to like it, but I couldn't seem to get used to it).

I have 3 different Christian short hosel, tapered blades: S7, S1, and 6 customs based on a Sherwood Spezza. The weights respectively are 157 g, 150 g, and 149 g. By any standard they are light wood blades, but there is no way they're 120 g (composite Synthesis is 140 g, composite R2 is 129 g). The S are heavier than the T series, but not by much. They also have three different series of blade. Pro-rite, diamondlite and pro-lite. The pro-lite is obviously the lightest. I haven't put any of them on the scale so I can't compare them.

Could you explain the S and T series intended differences, and how they relate to the custom blades? Are those 2 of the 3 series' that you listed as pro-lite, pro-rite, and diamond-lite? Thanks.

The S are the standard hosel, the T are the tapered. S are available in Pro-rite and Diamondlite, T are available in Pro-lite and Diamondlite. I would imagine the customs are pro-lite, mine were. Then again, they could be diamondlites if they are standard.

Only thing i can say is...My L-2 custom pro with a L-2 blade felt more blade-heavy then my synthesis sicore blade with my L-2...and my R2XN10 paired with a Syns is pretty nice..

So the L-2 i think is the heaviest blade in the market of the tapered blade..But i'm interesting in these super ligth R2 or one of those Christian..I whanted to try a XV too...but now that everybody say that this blade is heavier..i will pass

I'm a Iginla type...any know some curve that will suit my style in Tapered??(Any brand)

Thanks...

And what the problem with the R-2 Feel?? is there a big change compared to my Si-core...

P.S: Any body else has some weight of some other blade??Like the Vector blade....

Would trying to land some comp T-Flexes maybe help even out the balance point? Or would that just make it more blade heavy?

My comp T-Flex blade is heavier than my wood ones, so I guess that would move the balance point towards the blade.
