Kovalchuk's Blade

I don't think any companies make a Kovalchuk blade, but what retail pattern currently available on the market is most similar to Kovalchuk's curve and pattern in real life?

I just watched a Kovalchuk video montage that showed clips of 65 of his goals and almost every single goal was a wrister, hardly any snap shots and no slappers at all. I read that he uses a curve that wouldn't pass NHL inspection on most nights.

Also, if anyone has a closeup pic of Kovalchuk's blade, please post it :D.

I dont know what montage you watched, but in the one I watched, ALL of his goals came on one-timers and snappers. I heard he uses like a 1" blade, and the limit is 1/2". Search kovalchuk on the search and a few topics with pic of his curve should come up.

He has a retail pattern, but it isn't anything like his pro, which I finally got to see in person today. Get a Brendl wood, then curve it until you can fit a roll of tape under it.

Thats one crazy curve. I saw a toe curve like that, it actually hooked back around so a puck could be cupped into it. Think European toe on crack.....

His isn't a toe though, it's huge from heel through toe. At least Mogilny's is just nutty at the toe, this Kovalchuk is just.....Wow.

mack, is that the retail version or his actual pro version that he uses? Someone above mentioned there was a difference so i'm just curious.

It's his Pro. His retail is basically a Drury, Bauer P91 = Kovalchuk Retail.

kovalchuk is more of a sakic drury mix. it twist exactly like the drury, but has a curve on it like a sakic. i hope you get what i mean.

but yeah where did you watch these clips? cause if you go on www.atlantathrashers.com it shows his 41 goals this year, and i dont think more than 3 were wristers. they were all one-timers from the point, or snappers.
