wireless internet

i got dsl like a week ago and the last few days i have been trying to hook up a wireless router and i cannot install it im having a hard time with it

i do everything the instrution manual and the installation disc tell you but i cant get it anybody ever hook one up or have suggestions

could be a bunch of things, might have to set up ur ip or dns, could be so much. Nothing to do with the service provider though

call your ISP and see if they have a special modem you need.

Oh and are you sure everythings plugged in?? :lol: make sure the cord from the modem goes to the router and the cord from your router goes into your pc. and make sure you have ssid enabled. it never works for me when it's not on. make sure you have internet acces :D then make sure you have a wireless router. :ph34r:

with my wireless router, i had to call telus, and get a number from them. i tried for like 3 hours before calling them, and finding out that i needed the number. it was like a MAC number or something,

A number of ISPs only permit one MAC address per household. They either have to manually delete the MAC of the old device, flush the database or have you wait until it automatically refreshes.

I have Telus ADSL and they allows two MAC addresses per account. The best thing to do is FIRST attempt to connect to the internet with one computer through the router, so the MAC address of the router will be registered with your ISP, not the MAC address of the computer that is going online.

and your mac number (for your modem) is located right on the back of your modem.
