NHL Final offer

Recommended Posts

I'm surprised the League hasn't updated it's website. As of 7:09 EST is still has "...met Monday with no progress..." No mention of the "Final Offer".

I think if they can get this deal done tonight (or early tomorrow) this could still be very interesting. A 28 game season, playing only in your Diviision...could make for some real intense games.

It'll be a Stanley Cup with a great big Freaking Asterick next to it, but at least there will be a Cup to hoist.

I don't think the Devils cared about the shortened season when they were hoisting the cup. The Stanley Cup tournament is the toughest in all of sports, just hate to see a elite team have a bad slump at the start and miss the playoffs.

Ottawa would be tough to beat, they only have 6 guys not playing right now.

Not much different than crap teams sitting behind a hot goalie for 7 games because nobody calls interference and holding in the playoffs.

I'd look out more for veteran teams because the players will be well rested and not have gone through as long of a haul to get where they are. Assuming there is a season obviously.

A 28 game season is perfect for the Leafs. That doesn't give Belfour, Sundin, Roberts, and Nolan time to get hurt. Anyone else staying home tomorrow? I figure that with my huge lit test and math test I haven't studied for, watching this unfold tomorrow morning is reason enough to skip a day.

You're just hoping there isn't enough time for the Leaf's aveage age to catch up with them. The teams with a small number of players actually skating regularly may be hurt. It often takes veterans a few weeks to "warm up"

You're damn right I am! I figure were always in or around first place by X-mas and since this season is basically start --> X-mas, we gotta be the favourites. :)

Yeah but the season is so short the Flyers won't have their late season slump either.
