TPS shafts

Recommended Posts

Hey folks, first post here, been looking for a site like this for a long time, can't believe how long it took me....

Anyways, I was looking to get either the TPS Redlite shaft or the TPS Rubber. Has anyone used one or both shafts? I could use some opinion on these, like durability or flex issues.

I used a rubber along time ago and it was a tank. Eventually the rubber peels off and your gloves turn black as night when using this stick. It was a very good stick for me tho and I think you would be happy with either choice.

I had a redlight XN10 for about a month, good solid shaft. No complaints except the paint chipped offed, but that was purely cosmetic. I'd recommend it. Really light, also.

Very true except mine turned blue. If you willing to get over those two things, its a great performing stick. I have mine with a Si-core focus flex, great combo.

Why only a month? Did it break?

I had both the redlight and redlight xn10. Redlight compared very favorably to an Ultralite, the xn10 was an awesome shaft, maybe too light for my taste---why I sold mine to an MSH member. Both shafts are great couldn't go wrong with either one.

I've been using a regular Redlight for almost two years. It's a really good shaft. It has a few nicks, but that's to be expected since I also use it for pond and inline hockey.

No my warrenty replacement stealth came after about a month. I still have it as a back up, behind stealth XXX 1100.. guess I could probably get rid of it.

I take mainly wrist shots and and snappers and like to hold my stick high, should i go with a regular or whip flex? I found the 100 flex grip lite that i'm using right now to be a little too stiff

I would only use whip for roller. When I used a whip Response on the ice the stick would sway and bend with each cradle of the puck. And when taking a slap-shot with a whip stick you can take accuracy and throw it out the window.

My TPS regular Xn10 feels like at least a 100 flex, if not more. Iwould recommend whip flex for you.

The MSH flex chart lists the TPS Regular equal to an Easton 95 flex.

the sticks won't all be the same flex. As long as they are within a certain range they will be accepted.

I know, I've seen it. I'm just saying that's what mine feels like.

I'm using the xn10 redlite w/an X1 blade; it's a light combo. The xn10 is awesome for snap/wristers but it sucks for slapshots. Overall I like the shaft, but I find the X1 blade a little soft; it feels like it flexs when I shoot. Durability wise, the shaft is holding up after 6 months and if you like a stiff blade, get the Z carbon.

I'd stay away from the rubber because of it turning your palms black. That got me a little mad when i had mine a long time ago. The Redlite is a really nice shaft though. If you want grip, i believe TPS is coming out with a Grip Redlite this year...The Redlite Control i believe it is called. We had one, but I think someone bought it. It was a pretty nice shaft.
