CCM Tacks

Na he was definetely using a 130. I remember because from far away I was like, why is he using a Stealth if they have to use ... I also remember because they said his stuff got lost on the way there and they had to give him some other sticks. So he went up from the 110 to the 30 and won the comp. That is some either lucky as hell marketing, or one schemed like crazy marketing tactic.

Funny...I was at two rows from the ice and I saw him use a wood stick....hmmmm

No chief, I'm definetely sure he was using a 130.

EDIT: go to ccmsports.com...

HARDEST SHOT - BOURQUE USING CCM VECTOR V130

Norfolk Admirals rookie Rene Bourque recorded 99.8 miles an hour on the radar gun to win the CCM Vector Hardest Shot contest

You dont even seem to know what I was arguing about...but it's all good, I know I'm right :).

I was watching the event live on TV, from start to finish. I'm not a tool, you are talking about how he wasn't using a 130 and a wood stick...where that comment came from is some land I don't know of. Funny that in the interview after he shot, he said maybe I'll switch to this stick, funny that he was using a 130 in the game too..funny that it says on the ccm site that he was using a 130,

funny that his stuff was lost and his rep gave him a 130 to use, but obviously he was lying to us in some crazy plot to trick some little kid into buying the 130. But obviously you're right because you're right.

Edit...Bourque

I'm sure there are better pics out there if you want to see a higher quality one.

easy francis, I've seen Norfolk play here in Hershey several times and he didn't have a V130 any of those times. In fact, I've been surprised at the total lack of V130s in the AHL this year. Then again, I guess the problems with the retail models explains it.

Yes.  They must use their sticks, gloves and protective.

I was palying at a rink where a AHL team was having their practice. The stick bag (or should I say tent) was in the hallway open. It had every make/model stick from Eastons to Sherwood wooodies.

Two teams voted against it - Lowell and Albany. They can use whatever they want. So, if you saw one of those teams, that's why. Other than that, it was practice...

It was Lowell. They practice Wed morning before us.

What sucks is they take every dressing room, 3 players in each and they are too big for us to tell them to move!

Norfolk just got their 130's 2 weeks ago, now all but about 5 guys are using them.

Problem was corrected, or at least on their models. Ill use one next week and give my thoughts.

Great to hear. Competition is always better for the consumer.

I sent a e-mail to the AHL about this months ago and they told me that there are a handful on each team who are under the agreement to use THC stuff that are allowed to use a different brand of stick outside of CCM/Koho/Reebok/Jofa.......I know from having Hershey Bears season tickets that Jason Spezza is still using Sher-Wood sticks..... and the reason I e-mailed them is because I was watching a Hartford Wolfpack game and they showed a shot of the bench and two guys were using synergy`s and another had a Bauer XX or XXX.......

chadd, do you know why the 130 is priced around two bills?

Because they think people will pay that much.

lol, it seems like a nice stick in the shop but i dont know too many people will pay $200 to use and find out if its a pile or not. do you ever see prices of OPS ever coming down?

Stick prices will not stabilize or come down in price until one comes out that bombs because it is "too expensive". I would think that point will come in the near future as people will stop accepting $20 increases every year in top end sticks.

That said, the high price sticks do serve as a flagship for the entire line. If the Vapor XX and XXX weren't as high profile as they are, Bauer would never sell as many Vapor V's. Kids settle for the lower model and can say they still have a vapor or a vector, even if it shares few if any characteristics with the high end sticks.
