I kno it has been done with most other OPS, in which the blade is cut off and it is turned into a shaft and works with tapered blades. So I just brought the OPS from sport check and since the last thread that was started these sticks are now 90 dollars Cdn however my biggest concern is the curve which is Weight. I was thinking of cutting it and putting in a Sakic synthesis blade. Is this possible? Has it been done and does anyone kno where to cut?

Thanks

The shaft is not tapered so you'll be looking at a standard blade if you plan on cutting the ops blade off.

So will a standard blade fit perfectly if I cut it at the right spot or do I have to flip the shaft and use the other end? I tried flipping it and putting in a regular blade but it doesnt fit.

These Shafts are pretty concave at the plug end and most of the shaft length - which explains your difficulty inserting a blade into the opposite end.

If you're going to do it - just take your time and cut in smaller increments until you can get a blade into it.

I haven't needed to do this to any of mine just yet - but when the time comes I'm pretty confident it will work as long as proper care is taken during the cutting.

The Stick is 100% Tapered. If anyone says otherwise, they are wrong.

Weird. My eyes are deceiving me then because I'm looking at my alpha right now and it seems to be as straight as an arrow. I can see the taper by eye (and feel the taper by hand) on my flyweight though. I know you know for a fact that it's tapered but I just don't see it.
