T'Blades weight

Recommended Posts

CobrAA:

I grew up in Montreal too (Brossard), all hockey instruction was in French. English is hard (my 2nd language, too).

Did you weigh just the holders, or the holders + the blades?

Thanks.

i weigh the holder, stabilizater and the blade....same as my Prolite3(including the blade)

I did that because i put t'blade on my 1152(size 8) so i keep my Prolite3...and i buy t'blade holder(size 9) on ebay for my next pair of skate....but now...i think i will keep the Lightspeed on!Since the weigh is pretty the same!!

That why, there not the same size...anywayz, i did that...so you can see that company do lie on their marketing...

Off Topic...i live in Lasalle-Verdun(next to Brossard!) LOL

mini-grammar lesson because you want to improve. Anyways, like irregardless, isn't a real word. The word you want is anyway. I know you're adding the z for slang or whatever, but I figured I'd point it out because you've said it at least ten times in this thread.

I loved my t-blades at first but not i feel that after a season my skating stride has become choppier and my coaches have even told me im not as smooth as i was during tryouts. i have become a stronger skater, but i dont feel as smooth, and i have more of a rigid style now. Im looking forward to trying traditional runners again, t-blades were a pain after a while.

I think the current t'blade system is the same as 6-7 years ago? Or have there been different versions in the years?

And if they say t'blade holders are 40% lighter than other holders, they possibly mean they are 40% lighter than tuuk custom+ holders...

And as allmost everything in hockey equipment, new products are more light then their older versions ... (tuuk+ - lightspeeds)

So maybe nowadays the (6 years old?) t'blades are not 40%lighter then all the newer holders?

btw: In a german hockey newspaper ("eishockey-news") there was an article about all the new 2005 equipment, including a new all composite t'blade holder (supposed to be lighter and stiffer)! But I dont have the article anymore and i cant find anything about them on the t'blade website ...

yea if you could...it would be very interesting...(well...for me!:P)

But, T'blades in germany are pretty more popular than in America...and in Germany they have all kind of color holder and everything

Her,in America we only have the white and black holder...maybe this Composite holder...will only be in retail in Germany!And...I think Easton made a composite holder..wasn't??

By the way, i know that T'blades are made in Germany!!that why...they have all the stock lol!

Dr Kunz Mentioned they were working on the new holder when we spoke at the trade show. I got the impression they weren't quite ready yet when we spoke, perhaps the testing is done now.

40% lighter than what?

they dont actually advertise its 40% lighter than prolite 3s do they?

it could be 40% lighter than the old all steel holders they used in the bobby orr days.. its all relative to what you comparing it to..

its just the usual corporate marketing... you can make anything look better than something else... you see it all the time.. 4 out of 5 dentists.. 97% accurate..

buyer beware..

the owner (or inventor) of tblades is also registered on MSH

maybe he'll see this thread.

go mathias go.

For the reference size 272 we obtained the following weights per pair of blade (holder + steel, versus tblade holder + clip + stabi + runner):

546 grams (100%) TUUK

480 grams ( 88%) Lightspeed

391 grams ( 72%) tblade standard

333 grams ( 61%) tblade Carbon

Although I admit it hasn´t been done with a grocery´s vegetable scales, but only with a precision scale, I cannot exclude measuring errors, variations in resin density, fluctuations in mother Earth´s gravity field, or weigth changes due to design modifications for all blades used.

But again: weight isn´t everything.

Regards, Mathias

Due to popular demand during the January shows, we want to offer metallic holders and metallic stabilizers in the US next season, too.
