There are a few eyebrow raising omissions from the Russian list. Looks like every country is going young this time around. I'm surprised Samsonov got left off. Maybe it has something to do with the migraine problem he had a few weeks ago.

Except for goalies, this roster looks way stronger than the Canadian and US squads.

Looks like they're doing it the way they should have in the world cup. Screw trying to grind with the north american teams, just score all over them.

Neither Nabokov or Khabibulin have been particularly great in the RHL this year - hence the axe... I guess Eremenko is a week goalie though - second choice at Dynamo after Kazakhstan's Eremeev.

Of all the omissions Oleg Tverdovsky's surprises me most - he was the best offensive D in the RHL all season, outstanding player!

Too bad about Samsonov - this little guy is awsome on the big ice...
