  1. Guys, First off don't worry about the "Tron Guys" building the skates. Joe is still running Alkali and was always part of the development and creation of the original Alkali skates. He knows what he is doing. Also, he came to me for my opinions and thoughts on the skates, and I helped tweak the design, colors, fit, etc. As for the Nylon vs purlyn argument, the new skates that were launched have plenty of stiffness and durability from my experience.
  2. Low end skate based on the chassis and cheap lining material. Also, you can put an 80 on the back. That is why we sued bauer for trying to get around the patent.
  3. Yep. 8-10 minutes should be fine. Do not flex these ones during the heat fit.
  4. I can tell by the way that Easton skate is made, it is a very low end skate. I would definitely pass on it.
  5. I used to have a ton of stuff. Not a lot anymore. I do still have a pair of original VSI Team skates, lots of pants, a buttload of sublimated jerseys (need to sell these).
  6. Let me check at home. I may have some old, but new chassis floating around.
  7. Definitely recommend Grippers. We have three different hardnesses that should solve what you are looking for.
  8. Amazing how much the Peak Speed skates looked like Alkali skates with a color change.
  9. I have never tried not he 6ks, but they do have some similarities to the One90s. Not exactly, but similar.
  10. Yep, when Alkali was sold I lost my job.
  11. The glove is the best fitting glove (to me) I have ever designed. I would say the fit is a slightly snug on the fingers (but the lycra gussets make the glove fell non-restrictive). For $99 I don't think there is a glove that fits as comfortable as this one. I promise you guys will like them if you give them a chance.
  12. I am working at Labeda now. When Alkali was sold, I lost my job.
  13. Yep. The middle is the new graphic I did to update the look and get rid of the silly player and "hulk" hands.
  14. From a manufacturer side it is really quite easy to explain why you see multiple lines of products. More product lines = More sales (not always true, but most of the time it is true). The big guys don't want a small guy filling a niche and taking sales away from them. A companies main objective is to maximize profits, so we need to look at the how product is manufactured and sold. Most products have a two year life cycle: Year 1 - Product family X launches (think Vapor) Year 2 - Product X in its 2nd year sees sales numbers drop. What is a manufacturer suppose to do? Launch a new "different" product family. Sell the consume on different fit, styling, etc. Now you have Product Family Y launch (think Supreme Launch). Sales of Family Y go up and support the decline in sales of Family X. Year 3 0 - New Product family X launches. And so on and so on This is a very simplified explanation, but it is how most companies think. In the end, it is all about maximizing profits. This is why you see so much product out there. Everyone is trying to take business away from their competitors. Hockey is a very small industry and every dollar counts.
  15. A sad point that is also being lost is the amount of money owed to smaller vendors. Companies that are really going to hurt by the loss of business/payments still owed.
  16. Your statement is flawed. Is should read "Mission used to Dominate". Bauer is by far the leader in skate sales. Based on information I have seen, Mission is either 3rd or 4th in skates sales. Btw, I am not bashing anyone, as I have no horse in this race.
  17. Both girdles use the same material and equally ventilated. Just a matter of preference: compression vs traditional
  18. Graf and Alkali were made at the same factory. I never skated the 707, but as you will read, the vast majority of people that try Alkali love them.
  19. Wheels are really about preference. There is no right or wrong (other than the obvious stuff: playing outside/etc.). Any combination that a player likes, is the correct choice.
  20. I received our shipment and getting it into the system. Should be in stores shortly.
  21. First shipment of new product is showing up this week. Very excited to get it out to the stores!
