You can't change the shape of a boot but the molding ability helps with the various crevices and intricacies of a persons foot. I'd imagine if you need incredibly wide skates like a nexus you wouldn't really be able to mold these to fit your foot that well. Someone coming from supremes or vapors have a better chance of fitting into the skate. Gotta just try them. I figured that would be the case, I appreciate the help.

Helmet- Reebok 7k (black) Cage- CCM FM480 (black) Shoulders- Bauer TotalOne Elbows- CCM Fit04 (getting some new ones soon) Pants- Reebok 7k Shins- Warrior Bully Skates- Reebok 7k (getting new skates soon) Gloves- CCM U+08 Sticks- Easton RS Hall (primary), Reebok 11k Crosby (backup) My elbows really don't fit, I have a big gap between my gloves and my elbows, so I really need new ones. My skates are giving me pain because I wasn't fit right, they are a half a size too big, so when I go home I'm going to really take my time to get a good fitting pair of skates. Lastly, my gloves are decent, I really like the fit and everything about them, I just would like to get a pair of CL's.

I'm looking at getting new skates and I'm planning on trying on everything I can, but had a quick question regarding the Mako. From reading this thread I can tell that they mold really well to each persons foot, my question is this, is the boot more suited to a certain foot shape, or is the fact it bakes and molds so well negate the idea of fitting a specific foot shape?

Yesterday during my men's league game, I got the puck, circled behind the net and came out the other side with a lot of speed. Beat the first player who promptly tries to hack my hand off my arm, needless to say it REALLY hurt. I looked at the ref, who is buddies with most the other team (although he called a pretty good, unbiased game) and all he gave me was a shrug, no call. In all honesty if I were the defender I would have done something similar, although I wouldn't have swung my stick as hard. What really made me mad was the no call, it was a clear slash and I had the puck so I know the ref was watching. Not much I can do now, but at the time I was very pissed.
