Are you using the Pure on wood? I've been skating on the E-Flux since my home arena replaced the ice court with wood, and they've been ok but I'd like to find something a little better

Yeah I’m using them on wood.

They’re fantastic, grip is fantastic with zero speed loss.

They make one hell of a noise when doing hockey stops on the wood.

I did also have quick burn on a friends skates with a new set of e-flux.

while they were grippy they were no where near as good.

Id recommend going straight for the pure +2s.

It's such a shame Alkali wasn't sold to Warrior instead. They could have been a great addition to the company and a rival on the ice skate market. It was nice having Justin Hoffman's design evolve and such a shame it got abruptly cut off just as it got to the RPD/RPE iteration :/

    Quoted for truth.

problem with that is now they're molded to your feet, but not to the inside of the footbed so there's gaps between the insole and footbed

Theres no problem with that, the problem comes with baking them traditionally.

The way I did it was the only time these speed plates have ever been comfortable and of any benefit to me.

Give it a try and see for yourself, what have you got to lose?

  4. I'm baked mine originally following Bauers instructions and no matter how man times I tried to rebake them I could never get a decent fit.

One day I decided to heat them up with a hair dryer and then stand on them just on my lounge room floor while pushing them with my fingers all over to get a proper fit.

worked amazingly and now I've got a perfect fit.

I hope that can help anybody out.

  5. I got mine last April with my 1XRs but could never get them to fit properly following Bauers instructions on initial bake with skates and then multiple times on their own.

Id get sore arches and a numb foot within 10 minutes each time.

Recently I decided to give them another go but decided to try moulding them differently and have been able to make them fit perfectly.

I took a hairdryer to them outside the skate and heated them all over until the ink disappeared.

Then I stood on them on my carpeted floor and at the same time with my fingers pushed the speed plate up into my arch and around the contours of my foot while flattening it slightly around my right big toe where it was rubbing.

I think because of my higher arch the speed plate doesn't push up as well when moulding inside the boot.

The result being the speed plate now fits perfectly and makes the skate feel noticeably unresponsive without them.

Really glad I decided to give them another go as I was just going to sell them.

  6. Just finished using them on the ice for the first time.

These are worth the price for comfort alone, my skates normally give me sore feet and with power foot the pain was greatly reduced.

Control was definitely improved as well.

Much better leverage to put them exactly where I wanted them.

I'm really glad I gave these a go, I'm definitely getting another pair for my inlines now.

For the small cost the better comfort alone makes these a very good purchase for anyone interested.

  7. The change in pitch on the chassis with the recessed second wheel gives you a more natural, agile stance compared with the up high feeling of the CA series chassis.

I personally don't mind the old one myself but I've been using 76mm wheels on the front of mine giving a similar lower effect.

  8. I personally don't like mixing durometres but at a guess I reckon you'd feel more comfortable with the softer wheels in the middle.

When I've mixed durometres in the past I've found it awkward if I've had softs front and hard rear or vice versa.

But again that's just a guess, experimenting with different set ups is half the fun! :)
