  1. Although yes the programs are abused quite abit what happens if you plain just dont like the skates? I got the mako deal and didnt like them at first. I was very, very close to giving up and getting rid of them. I have nexus coming my way and its my first time trying a stiff composite boot and the nexus fit.. what happens if I hate them?
  2. i came from x:60s and didnt wear top eyelet, and I do the same with my makos
  3. Changed to ls2 because I was bored at work and think the ls2 look better. honestly felt alot better on the tuuks though, wasnt happy to find out the rivet pattern does NOT lineup
  4. Just switched my holders to LS2 today.. holes did NOT line up. , the hole pattern was correct but seem to be at a different angle? I could only line up either the front or back pattern. I decided to use the rear and drill the front, it was clearly more centred. However the holes were very closebtogether and I'm kind of concerned with thw strengrh considering.there is no outsole
  5. So, if these tendon guard squeezing the ankle idea's are correct, drilling my own holes at wider points on the guard should in theory relieve the pressure . May try and i will get back to you
  6. I've tried the heat and fold , and when i rebaked i didnt tie the top eyelet as I skate one eyelet out anyway. I figure i have thick ankles. I may try a sleeve as mentioned. Sorry to cause confusion jimmy!
  7. I feel like a smaller skate would not change the fact that the top of the boot was touching my ankle. Possibly wven make it worse
  8. I had the "mako bumps" very bad to the point i had a deep cut in the spot. I heated the spot and folded them over and waited until my cut had healed. This still didn't help and I put elite hockey gel pads on the spot.. it helped but was rather annoying putting theskate on and off I added ccm footbeds and s took the gel pads off, helped immensely the overall fit of th skate and even the abrasion but its still rubbing... Anyone have any idea?
  9. Anyone been in games with these? Looking at mine and there is not much padding or protectuon, curious as to how shots or passes feel off the boot
  10. I had spot heated it and tied it down, but eventually ended up crazy glueing elite hockey gel pads to the area, but it still does irritate.. just enough to be of annoyance
  11. I like these skates... But do not love them. Which is why im thinking of goinf to x100's. I'll give them a few more skates . May just be superficial though, as im used to flopping tongues in a vapor boot
  12. Not surprisingly, the protection is not great. Got hit right on the ankle on June 8th and there is still bruising.
  13. Do you think a tongue replacement to a white felt would effect the fit negatively?
  14. I ended up getting them contoured to a neutral, very glad i did. With the ankle rubbing issue resolved with some gel pads as well I am very happy with these skates
  15. this is what I did, heated up the area and folded over. Then tied the "flap" down and threw in freezer for an hour. Hopefully it works. Hopefully you can see it in this
  16. I may bite the bullet next pay check, I'll be sure to post picturs etc.
  17. a few things: great fitting skate, the boot is like no other. but now to the issues, first off after every ice time I come off and the blade is clicking, and needs to be tightened, this happens after every ice time, also my previous x:60s had literally the opposite contour on them (backward rake) not by choice, just the way they got sharpened. ive been seriously contemplating switching out to LS2 or edge holders, any thoughts? also, been getting a cut above my ankle, from the top of the boot. any idea how to fix this? picture:
