  1. Did you check your pro stock for accuracy? The trigger 4 I got from hockey stick man was actually a FT2 build dressed up. Ymmv.
  2. That is priceless lol. I really think that many ppl just don't know. I'll look for pro stich all the time on side line swap and I'll ask sellers to send me pics of the bar code and at least 80% respond with something like, what why?? Or okay but this is Def a xyz stick. Low and behold its dressed up and I tell them, most don't eveb respond or just go like oh.. Okay thx. How can you sell pro stock and not realize they have manufactured codes!! I'd say atleast 60% of supply I see is dressed up or team stock but sold as genuine pro stock (not counting prostock hockey, mostly on SLS).
  3. Well... I think they know about it but maaaaybe are too lazy to structure the website like PSH's where it tells you if it's dressed up as something else. I wonder how many people who buy pro stock know about the codes? I called and they will take the stick back and send me a shipping label.
  4. So I got the trigger 4 in andddddd to my little surprise, the bar code would indicate it's actually a FT2. HSMHK2SP I really don't want to go thru the hassle of returning a hockey stick so I guess I'll just keep it? my FT2 I think is an R shaft geometry, this one says C so maybe I'll let that feel a little better. So.. FYI, anybody buying from HockeyStickMan.com, call them up and make sure they are going to check the barcode for you since CCM dresses up a lot of sticks. They did get the 2N Pro correct though so... I'll be getting that out for a test spin soon.
  5. I would never want a 370g stick. The Supreme ADV is stupid light and it's so horribly balanced I gave it back to the person who let me use it literally within 3 minutes. Balance >> static weight. IMO sticks don't need to go much more below 400g. Give me the best puck feel and balance you possibly can, stop giving me less weight.
  6. Purchased a prostock Trig4 and also a 2N pro. Will give thoughts in a week or two about how I feel they compare... if more pucks are going in with one vs the other, if I feel one shoots harder/faster than the other and so on.
  7. The high prices just mean more demand for the lower end stuff which long term means the prices across the board will go up and retailers can also hold higher prices on older models for longer. These companies aren't dumb. it does nothing but hurt us consumers because seriously... unless you are getting these for free or you're insanely elite, who's using a $400 twig? Was there a real market demand for this? I don't bat an eye at spending $1000 on skates because I can make them last for years and years, but I could snap a $400 stick in 3-4 games.
  8. I didn't pay extra for my ccm holders. Can't speak to the True holders but the XS are very good.
  9. To me the ADVs felt terrible anyway. Super light blade, the feel was weird and somehow the stick was almost too light. I'd much rather use my FT2 than the ADV. Maybe the Vapor one is different but I gave the one I used right back to the dude in like 2 minutes.
  10. So then Burns is using the new FT3 then in it's stock form? If so, I'm really liking the color and might grab one once they hit SLS. Love my FT2 and if the FT3 is somehow even better.. I'm in.
  11. Yeah, only thing I can think of... but have CCM officially announced the stick or released any info about it? All the prostock FT3 I've seen in the wild have FT2 paint jobs.
  12. It could be but the lettering and stuff look different than the regular Jetspeed. The shadow series use the same graphics, no? For example, the 2N Pro black has the same letter font and graphic placement, just black/grey where there was once blue. I asked over on s2k, those guys tend to have a lot of insider knowledge.
  13. Why would they wrap with a paint job that looks like a stick that's not currently available at retail? It looks like it says Jetspeed... but... with FT3 just barely hitting pro stock sites, I have no idea what that is. Maybe a limited colorway for the FT2/3 ?
  14. I meant they don't have my flex and curve in the AS2 or 1X Lite. The 2N pro they have in my flex and curve. Maybe I need a coma in there or something but... yeah. Writing not my forte. Edit: Going to edit that original post so it reads properly.
  15. I think I'm grabbing a Nexus 2N pro off HSM tonight... hopefully even with the holidays I'll have it here by end of next week for use in my game. I'm also possibly going to grab an AS2 pro and/or 1X lite and finally decide which kind of stick is best for me but they don't have my flex or curve in right now. Once they do, I'll pick one up. I definitely prefer my FT2 over the QRL. The blade on the QRL is like a rock compared to the CCM and I only needed about 3 minutes with it on the ice to switch right back to my FT2.
  16. The re-wrap was a success. I felt completely locked in during my morning skate and it's probably the best I've felt on the ice in a long time.. maybe ever. Guys were saying how they've ordered a pair and wouldn't stop asking me how they fit, etc etc. I think a lot more people have issues fitting into retail than we think and now that the price between a True and top of the line skate is basically the same... I see no reason to not get a completely custom fit right to your foot.
  17. I have the thin tongue in mine and I'm extreeeeemly happy with it. Would never go back to the old felt ones and would also never want one of those big giant thick/floppy ones unless I had volume issues... which... with True you should not. And thx for info on # of bakes. The kid told me not to ever bake again as this was time #3 and I was like ehhhhhhhhhhhhh ok then lol.
  18. Got the re-wrap today at Pure hockey. When I first walked in some guy got all mouthy with me and said they "don't do that" here and it's not needed. Ended up convincing some kid to do it after I showed him the vids linked above. Skating tomorrow AM so hopefully it helped tighten the skate back up a little bit. I think I read earlier these can be naked up to 6 times? That was bake #3 for me, just want to know how many more I could do in case it needs a little more.
  19. I could fit them in my FT2's but not my True's. I just moved the tongue forward maybe... 1/2 more, and boom, the fit felt much better. I may actually try pushing it in even a little more just to see how that feels. I didn't think I had particularly chunky toes.... now you've made me feel self conscious 😢 lol
  20. I actually just un-did the togue and re-inserted it a little further into the skate. There's almost no negative space and putting Powerfeet in there was impossible (I tried, waste of $20). Like others say, your heel will almost definitely feel like it slips while you are walking upright or just sitting there. When you are skating and in a leaned over/proper hockey stance, this goes away. If it doesn't... then you maybe have a small issue and should consider rebake and shrink wrapping tighter.
  21. I didn't buy my skates there, but last time I checked they still charge the same price for a sharpening whether somebody did or didn't buy them there ( I'm sure the initial sharpening is free, but not ones after that). Not saying your reason is wrong but... it doesn't quite make 100% logical sense to me. Anyway, it's besides the point. I'll be baking these one way or another, and re-wrapping with shrink wrap. I'll report back with any thoughts on if my fit improved and so on.
  22. Dang ok Guess I'll need to get one... Nope, I didn't see any buttons or settings that would lead me to believe it has a fan or any kind of convection setting. I'll text my landlord and see if he knows any better. Yeah, I'll have to see tonight how fast it cools down once I turn it off. Worst case.... $20 at HM or Pure. Still don't get why it's that much $$ when a skate sharpening takes them almost as long as is $8... Must really jack up their electricity bill or something.
  23. Well, I certainly don't want the heating element inside the oven on while they are baking... even with flipping the skate I feel like I would risk heating the skates unevenly if I did that because my oven is electric. The methods I've seen online for people with these kinds of stoves is to heat it up past the actual baking temp, turn the oven off and then let it cool down to just above the temp you need. Opening the door to put a skate in will let some heat out but once you close it, it shouldn't lose heat too quickly. I mean... if for some reason it was losing heat at a really rapid rate, then I'd probably have no choice but to bring it in to HM to use their skate oven. Also, I actually don't have a shoe horn right now.... is that a 100% requirement once you've already broken the skates in?
