  1. https://www.russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2017/09/20/alex-ovechkin-considering-changing-equipment-brands-experimenting-ccm-gear/ with So I'm beginning to believe that Ovi is considering switching back to CCM. There's been various photos of him out there using CCM sticks during off-season skates with the Caps, and then there's also this that I saw earlier: he was wearing what looks like Tacks line skates.
  2. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/sopranos-actor-frank-vincent-dead-78-article-1.3493561 Frank Vincent, best known as Billy Batts in 'Goodfellas', or as Phil Leotardo in 'The Sopranos'.
  3. Full look at the Golden Knights uniform
  4. Couple of good things happened recently.. Just got back from visiting my fiancee's family in Michigan. She must love me a lot, she was willing to let me go to Perani's for a while, even though we had a compressed schedule, people to see, and a million and one things to do up there. Best fiancee ever. :) Also, I got offered a job at a construction company's shipping and receiving department. 40+ hours a week, every other Friday off, and I get my own office. Needless to say, life is going pretty good for me right now.
  5. The missus decided that I was gonna sit down with her and watch Brigadoon the other night, and then she dragged me to watch the live action version of Beauty and the Beast today... I've had about all I can stomach of musicals for a long while. Disclaimer: I actually kind of enjoyed Brigadoon; I don't care if admitting it makes me softer than a tootsie roll fruit cup.
  6. They have their selling points as others have mentioned, but to me... There's gotta be a reason most of the inventory of them at my work (let's call this workplace "Good Sale," and with a little thinking and imagination, you can figure out the real name) are returned, and are now lower priced as open-box.
  7. Best advice my teammates gave me there. Also good advice, which I did immediately after the game. Thankfully, we won't have to see them again but in the playoffs, and maybe not even then. Just a matter of how the chips fall and how we seed out. I guess in hindsight it's best to let it go, rather than take a suspension over something stupid, like a fight. That being said, I wish the league would reconsider player eligibility, and place everyone in their appropriate divisions. I get you can't always prevent a ringer from slipping through, but when you've got the good C league and B league players gooning it up in D... Something's definitely wrong there. Less about having fun and more about that $$$.
  8. Guys who refuse to shake your hand post-game because of ridiculous stuff that happened during the game. Context: guy from the other team went skating backwards, ran into me, goes flying, then crying to the ref that I cross-checked him. Incidental contact isn't a penalty last time I checked.. I should probably mention this guy is a) a ringer from a league or two up (my team's in D league), and b) is a known whiner and goon. After he got a goal waved off for a kicking motion, he was out for blood. Took hard, deliberate slashes at my stick the rest of the game, then puts me on my ass in front of the net and gets whistled. Guess what he did? Cried to the ref that I should go to the box for interference. On the way to the box, he proceeds to chirp me that "I need to learn to fucking play hockey.." That's why I'm in D league, to learn proper ways to play the game again after taking time off; sorry that you have to slum around here because you wanna goon it up, but whatever helps you sleep at night and makes you think your dick's bigger. But the crown of this was going through the handshake line. Pulled his hand up as I went by him. That's what made me angry here. I cannot stand poor sportsmanship. I'm sure it's been said many times on this website before by a lot of people, but seriously. If the final buzzer sounds, you let it go, line up, and no matter how much you wanna kill the other guy, you grow a pair, man up, and shake their hand. Go have a beer in the locker room, then go home. We all do this for fun, it's not the end of the world. Especially since some of us have to get up and go to work the next day. TL;DR: got ran by a ringer all game, and I was the asshole, apparently. Whatever, at least I scored two goals.
  9. Sadly, some of us drove all the way to Buffalo to watch the Leafs play, then found out while gas may be cheap, there's no all dressed chips. What a shithole.. All quotes aside, after my buddy at work showed me this, I thought it was the greatest thing ever and binge-watched season one. I get it's not everyone's type of humor, but it's still good in other aspects too. I'm ready for the second season to come out, for more hilarity alongside more wheels/snipes/cellys/dirty dangles.
  10. Chadd, I don't even know where to begin, man. I could say something, but everything I could go with has already been said. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family. Now, for why I came here to vent. Couldn't afford to play college hockey this year, so I got to sit at home and check stats of the team at their preseason tournament. It kills me to not be playing this year...
  11. My teammates have spammed my Twitter feed tonight, crying about Oshie not being on the Blues anymore.. I should ask them how Coors Light tastes with tears in it.
  12. https://youtu.be/BtazdXh03aU?t=3m Haha it was based off of Ovi's shoulder pad design. I'll be the first to admit it, I'm a bit of a POEW (Proclaimed Ovechkin Equipment Whore).
  13. Most of my college hockey misadventures... Some aren't so recent, but still a chronicle of my time in hockey while in college... http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/Kent_Sloan/69005_10200451947934547_360969167_n_zpsn2j999ol.jpgI looked terrible in this game.. I wasn't 100%, was coming off a really bad cold.. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/Kent_Sloan/521610_10200452261702391_775655683_n_zpsv6grqgt1.jpgStill scored the game winner though. :) http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/Kent_Sloan/1926711_732378820119364_1304595550_n_zpsawlfan0b.jpgI did some profiles for our university's team to help out one of my friends for a photography class (I kind of dislike this photo, as I was about 20 pounds overweight at the time this was taken.. And finally: http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/Kent_Sloan/64765_959072190773561_6164975838747566986_n_zpsnovevw8r.jpgMost recent, this was from the Kansas State Invitational
  14. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/Kent_Sloan/IMG_20150513_180338_zps4vrepogz.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/Kent_Sloan/20150513_122706_zpsngwho2xr.jpg I know I already posted my new shoulder pads off in the "Show It Off" thread, but I never explained what mods I made to them... Took the caps off my Bauer Nexus 600 shoulders, replaced them with CCM U+04 caps, had a Cramer OSI pad sewn into the back for extra protection (pucks to the shoulder hurt!), and had a Lokomotiv Yaroslavl patch sewn on to it. I wanted to pay tribute to the 2011-12 team... Oh, and all the Sharpie writing, for cosmetic purposes, of course.
  15. I got my current shoulder pads done last week.. I couldn't be happier. Even though my friends think they're a total Ovechkin move. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/Kent_Sloan/IMG_20150513_180338_zps4vrepogz.jpg
