Alibaba hockey sticks, APEX hockey/Tiuden Sports
nutters replied to bthompson1286's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
With these sticks you never know what you'll get, there is no consistency at these factories. A company I worked for had everything manufactured in China, so when my boss would go over he always looked at other things he could sell just to make a little more. He once visited one of these stick factories and told me they just slap on the branding of what the person ordered. Flex, kickpoint and weight didn't matter as you could get a sub 400 gram stick with the specs you ordered, or you might get something heavier than a retial lowest price point stick. You needed to be very lucky. My boss even told me some of the branding wraps they'd apply had spelling mistakes and/or written in a generic font while featuring colours which were off. Much like knock off Beats don't work in one ear and lasts a week don't be upset when you're "BAWER SUPREM" weighs in at 550 grams and still manages to break if it gets chopped by an ADV. -
No Vancouver on the front and the stick in rink patch is updated. Unfortunately, the helmet still looks too big on Pettersson.
-
I felt it made the stick play whippier than the flex. Especially compared to their pre-ET low kicks
-
The true model name would be on the sticker at the top of the shaft next to the price sticker. The numbers your providing are the player's specific build. Based on the bottom of the shaft, it is a true ribcor. Whether it's a reckoner, asy or pmt I can't tell.

No problem. Looks like the lower end one will be the Vapor 2.7 (lowest goalie gear released this week has that number). Only tech I have heard is the elliptical taper. I don't know if it is a FL only feature or is on the entire line.
-
iirc the line goes: flylite, 2x pro, 2x, 270 (or team)
-
Better pics of the flylite

I don't believe so as I heard they never sold well. Telling when Bauer didn't release the 2N Pro at retail.
-
Yeah Nexus will soon just be sticks and gloves
-
I don't remember where I heard it and it may have been bad info. Apparently the 2S Pro pants will be a continuation of the Supreme line's hybrid style while the rest of the line will be a Nexus-like fit. It might be incorrect but it seems as if the Nexus pants are more popular than Supremes, so it may be possible.

This is close out for their retro designs they were doing with the QRL stuff. Besides with the vented top on that one, if your bag is slightly over-packed it will tear apart.
-
With everyone saying the mesh is ripping with their Warrior bags is the reason I said the pockets were useless. For me it's the one down side, as it would be great to have skate pockets made for skates bigger than a size 5. My skates (8.5) with soakers won't go in😆
-
I am currently using the Warrior Pro bag which has no frills. No compartments, useless pouches and no extra goodies. But guess what? Best, most durable bag I have ever had. I've tried bags with the extras and when it tears or the zipper jams you feel like you wasted money. Now I know something will happen this week to my bag (tiihii) because of this post, but it's lasted for much longer than any other I've used, so it'll be my next one too.

Nobody wants to associate with Nylander atm

When Did You Get Bored With Acquiring New Hockey Gear?
nutters replied to beerleaguecaptain's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
my dad is a goalie and always tells me how happy he was i didn't decide to become one. he's also jealous i can get gear when I feel like it. clearance player protective is cheap, especially the top stuff. goalie? top of the line pads will still cost you $1,000. -
Better pic with that flex Clearly hasn't liked the 2N Pro. Used the Trigger PMT (can't remember if it was 2 or 3), back to the 1N 2.0 and now the DX. Maybe he doesn't want to be the poster boy for the Nexus line anymore.
-
I haven't heard much about breakage, but that could be the case with the quick price drop. If that is a concern try the Project or give the T90 a try (there is a reason you can still get them). The shaft shape doesn't change much. You notice it and it feels comfortable at first. Besides that the difference is so small you won't notice it during game play. Plus they have the HPR with a traditional shaft shape too.

Don't worry, I didn't have BASE in mind when I was talking about the brands who rely on instagram adds and youtubes to promote their generic sticks. Considers the retail price for a top BASE stick is roughly around one for Sher-Wood or STX, it is obvious the fee for brands to have NHL rights forces them to charge $200 more than ABHS or NN. You guys have a custom element. I just couldn't vouch for a brand with some noteriety (such as BASE) I have not tried.
-
Sher-Wood post Momentum RM days has been very good. The Rekker 365 is the lightest non special edition stick on the market and can be had at 50%. The BPM 150 is on sale if you can get passed the colors. STX you'll pay a bit more, but you're still getting a solid stick and have a trial period. I am currently using the RX3 and love it. Don't bother with those $129.99 we're as good as the big names' $299.99 sticks but don't pay nhl fees so our sticks aren't costly. It's a lie.
-
Maybe a weight thing. Or like me who never cared about it
-
But why tho?
-
Yes I agree that these companies should differentiate themselves unfortunately curves are not the way to go. BASE does that with a bevy of curve options which were never offered at retail. Unfortunately, how many BASE sticks do you see at local rinks? Also most people are happy with the 92/88/28 offering as established companies have realized. People who are on here and selective with patterns represent an extreme minority. As previously mentioned, offer something new and people will follow ( think VH/True skates).
-
Why make niche patterns if you are starting out?
