You can tell I'm old by my gear. These are just some skates I had laying around. Getting rid of most of them
-
Nice skates, too soft for some, but I like em. You need a new pillow cover tho dude..

Those are sweet looking skates. I like the all black touch. If those skates had any stiffness to them I would have bought them myself. I tried those on and they're plenty stiff. I wore Graf 707s for 6-7 years and now have Bauer 8090s and Nike Flexlites...Go figure...I guess I like the toecap room since I have some jacked up feet.

Recovery after broken ankle
epstud74 replied to ThePurpleCobra's topic in General Hockey Discussions
Atrophy is a major problem for athletes returning from a long term injury You should see my shoulder/chest area. I got hit fairly hard and my pectoral ripped off my shoulder and my bicep tendon ruptured as well. Was black and blue from my hip to my fingertips for about 2 months, and was not able to open a door with my right hand for over a year. My pectoral that rolled off is still in a knot towards the middle of my chest.. Talk about atrophy, and it has been a long long process to heal...Lots of therapy, going slow with surgical tubing and light weights..I can now curl 55lbs with my right hand, but 7 years ago, I couldnt even open a door with my right hand. I doubt it, do you have an ankle brace? I've broken and torn ligaments in my ankle and find that broken ankles are easier to recover from -
That was us...you should've yelled out... We had a blast...I need to recharge my batteries but yes, I did meet up with David and his family before and after the Draft. At one point I was asked to sit with them during the first round, but he got a bit nervous and decided to be with his family, and that's fine by me. Must you shit in his Cheerios? St. Louis is a good hockey town and great fans and a young team. Much better chance of getting to the NHL earlier than to be on a team that doesn't promote their prospects. I loved watching the Blues back in the 90s with Hull and Shanahan..Before that was Hull and Oates. Some great players have donned the Blues uniform.

Nike/Bauer has had some troubles with mis-mounted holders as well. Seems to be a common production mistake. Perhaps due to non-Canadians mounting the holders on the skate..New trainees at the sweatshop err factory.

Hope you enjoy them.. Graf makes a good skate even though the company has been much maligned on here...Mainly due to customer service issues. I tried those on once and thought they were nice, a tad bit too stiff for me, but a nice, well designed and thought out boot. A very nice looking pair of skates indeed. Since they are customs, they are probably one or two levels stiffer than retail. I bet they'll last you a decade at the least. ;) Keep us updated... I'm pretty sure Graf retail is the same stiffness as custom...Graf seems to operate under a different philosophy than Nike/Bauer and Rbk when it comes to their skates...Other than custom tongues/holders, I believe what the pros wear when it comes to boot construction, you can get retail...I could be wrong, but that is my understanding.

I used to date a girl with your same last name.

2007 Nike/Bauer Holiday Catalogue
epstud74 replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2007 Product Catalogue Reviews
Can someone in the know give me a reason for the "Canada Only" sticks and products we see? -
Has anyone ever put T-blades on a Daoust? :)

Saterdalen is a legend. I may have bought skates from you perhaps?

Well i cant really say i REMEMBER them cuz i was only a few years old. But yes, seeing highlights and those players after they played HS gives me a good idea as to how good they were. Amazing tradition in the powder blue. Yep, the Jeffersn Youth progam has produced some great players as of late. Too bad the USNDT/Holy Angels/Juniors has been bleeding the Jeffersn progam as of late, othewise Peter Mueller and Erik Johnson would have suited up for the Jags too..Both are products of the Jefferson Youth Progam. Well i cant really say i REMEMBER them cuz i was only a few years old. But yes, seeing highlights and those players after they played HS gives me a good idea as to how good they were. Amazing tradition in the powder blue. I might go back and play a drop in game at the Bloomington Ice Garden for old time's sake. It has been awhile, but since I now live in Shakopee and there is a new rink close by, I havent needed to play at the BIG. I always loved the Ice Garden and Braemar. Do you get your gear at Westwood in AV??
-
Ahh the Jefferson Jaguars. Nice pic there, I used to live by Jefferson HS in West Bloomington. Those were great days, remember the 91-92-93 Jags with Mike Crowley, Toby Petersen, Mark Parrish, Nick Checcho, Ben Clymer and the Trebil brothers?

You look like you mean business.. Is your team color a dark maroon or is it black? That isnt Apple Valley Varsity is it? They were pretty tough back in the days of Karl Goehring in net.

Maybe JR can shed some light on the subject?

Not me, but a nice collection of pics from a MN HS game in January http://online.portrait-pictures.com/SC/ind...899124218BC105A is it just me or does all of the people with the one90 or one70 gloves (what ever they are) have a big nike swoosh where the NBH sign should be. Not sure, I noticed that too..Sounds like a custom order to me..which isnt uncommon.
