How do you keep your skates in such good condition? I bought a pair of skates 1.5 months ago and have black marks all over the white holders already...
-
The custom embroidery is for Benilde St. Margaret's Scarlet Knights. It's a private school in MN. Good program and a sweet find and deal on the gloves. I know a guy or two who played there that has those mitts. Lookin good. I was going to say the same thing..The logo is a dead giveaway. Andrew Alberts (Boston Bruins) played at that very same HS 5-6 yrs ago.

Those 4-rolls are beauty. What cuff length is that? I have the same One90s..Prostock right?
-
My ideal beer league look would be the darth vader look..All black type skates, black/white RBK platinum jersey, black breezers, black/white socks, black helmet.. These skates look way better with the black holder instead of blue.
-
Ditto for me as well. I'm wearing Torspos because they're comfortable, not a fan of the color, probably why I got the black E-Pro holders put on them. I'd like to put them on my Graf 502s as well.
-
I'd prefer to have no blue or silver with the exception of the lettering.

Looks like Modano's gloves have the oval and diamond? Are these made just for him or diff cuffs?

I'm not one to spend a lot of $$ on equipment, but I like comfortable gloves Here are mine:
-
No..Jefferson colors
-
Some of my old gear..I buy new stuff, but never stray from the old..I dunno why..More pics to come
-
Not the best pics but some of my gear..
-
I find that my skates become less "sharp" the more fatigued I get
-
Everyone has an opinion on how their gear should "look." Personally, I dont give a shit either way..Sticks are sticks..and if they perform well..then great..I've never checked someone else's stick on the ice.. As for gear, I think we all tend to prioritize what we spend on equipment unless you're new to the game and get suckered into have top shelf gear from helmet down to the skates. I spend most of my $$$ on skates (which isnt much compared to some) and gloves..Things that I like to be comfortable in. I go cheap on shoulder pads..(cheaper ones are more comfortable anyways) and pants.. At this stage in my life, I dont need a $150 pair of breezers, but something functional and protective..The same goes for shin guards..I'm still wearing a pair of CCM shinguards I got maybe 10-11 years ago. I still wear an HT-2 helmet and have a CCM 492 on order..so..Hockey is an expensive sport and it costs enough to fork over $$$ to help the beer leagues exist, why blow $1000 on gear? You can buy visors for $30, why spend $100? It wont help you play like Ovechkin..
-
Apples and oranges... Why? At one time they made skate runners for Riedell Hockey as well.
-
How does this compare to the Sheffield Steel I had in my old Riedell Air hockey skates ten years ago? This stuff was pretty shiny as well.
-
Aside from Habs pants, it looks like quality protective gear that does the job. Where can I get some Habs pants? As for the gear, anything protective is good enough for me. I'm not going to go out and blow $150 on beer league shoulders and another $100 on shins. I've still got an old pair of CCM shins from 10 years ago..They work for me..I just need new shoulders, my Cooper Defenders are cracking on the shoulders.

What rink / league is that Forbs? WHAM (the women's version of AHA). My team usually skates out of Augsburg but the state tourney was at the Super Rink. I've played at Augsburg a few times..Its right next to their basketball arena. Nice little facility and a few bars closeby. Was like 10 years ago when I last played there. Ever skated at the old Fairgrounds Coliseum?
-
Really nice..won any skating competitions with those yet? How did you dye the holders?
-
what happens if he turns out to play righty? Thats my hope. :) The real answer is then the whole ugly process starts all over again. Hopefully he doesnt chose soccer or wrestling instead.

It is amazing at how my GF pisses and moans about my sticks taking up space, (I've acquired 3 new ones in the last 3 weeks) yet she gets a new pair of Ugg boots each season. (Fall, Winter, Spring) Also, she has maybe 30 pairs of shoes and our walk-in closet is dominated by her wardrobe along with our main dresser in the bedroom. I've had to resort to putting my suits/sportcoats in a wardrobe closet in my son's bedroom. P.S. Anyone have a Vanek Warrior blade?
-
Nice stuff. How do you like the CCM tacks and E-blade? ..why is this thread not showing up in my normal list?
-
No, it was a topic on the Torspo skates. Whoops..My bad
-
It looks better with less blue and more black. I'll try to keep you updated, but they really are comfortable and wrap my ankles and heel really well. I'd suggest someone try the Torspo or Kor skates and get a feel for the molding to foot type technology.

I had the E-Pros put on these since I didnt like the Sweet 150 PIKA holder. I took these into Dave's Sport Shop in Fridley, MN. A guy there asked me why I was going to change them out, and I replied, "I didnt like the blue holder." Turns out he helped design the skates or so he says. I've yet to skate on the ice with these, but in wearing them around the house and getting a feel for them..They fit great and I can stand on one leg and lean outwards and still retain my balance..Very comfortable fit..Like a snug running shoe, but still pretty stiff yet well balanced. I had to get rid of those unsighly "E-Pro" silver graphic decals though.
