  1. two sweet goals? One 5 hole hasek should of had, and the other, Chelios stood there and watched him bat it in. Should have laid him out. I'd be mad if I was a Detroit fan right now too.. But I'm not. Go Perron! yeah, im not mad though nutsack. The Wings are arguably the best team in the NHL right now, and one bad period isnt going to get me mad. Calling those goals sweet is a bit of a stretch. I smell a homer. Aussie -- the games not over yet. They'll be up.
  2. David "White Shoes" Perron -- I smell a new nickname.
  3. Plenty of time to grab another one for his first hat trick.
  4. Hell of a shot. Proving the Blues right again and again.
  5. Yeah, he's on. Starting now.
  6. I've updated almost all of my equipment... so, re-list: Helmet: Mission Intake. Shoulders: None. Elbows: None. Gloves: Eagle x50. Girdle: Mission Helium 10000. Pants: Mission Wicked 1. Shins: Rbk 4K. Skates: 2006 CCM Pro Tacks with Sprungs and Hyper Trinities. Underwear: Jock Plus one-piece, Easton Synergy Skate socks... Sticks: Easton Ultra Lite + Z-Carbon CNT, Hespeler Patriot + Mission L-2. I guess that's all besides some minor other stuff and backups/spares.
  7. Perron is in tonight vs. the Hawks. Already laid out a sexy dangle to gain the zone and then had a nice scoring chance with Weight in a 2on1. David just got his first NHL goal... kind of a silly one, but he shot it while he was sliding on his ass into the net.
  8. Go watch the clip, he deserves an assist for the effort in creating the turnover as much as any pass -- since it's so hard to give proper credit where credit is due, I'll take the "off-the-body-second-assist" system we have now. More effort goes unnoted in the standards than the other way around.
  9. One of those "phantom assists" they've been talking about so much. The definition of such. No goal without his effort and forecheck behind the net.
  10. Yeah, even if it didn't hit him or touch him the goal happened because of his forecheck. A great play.
  11. He's in tonight, game is halfway in, David had a few VERY impressive shifts early on and is playing an amazing shift currently at 14:30 in the 2nd. David just caused a turn over that resulted in the Blues second goal. It hit his skate, he SHOULD get an assist, we'll see how it's recorded.
  12. I figured he would -- I'll be watching. He did play a good game on Tues, he was getting a bit rattled, you could tell, he was being pretty hard on himself when he would lose the puck -- there was one point that he tried to dangle and got it poked and he came off the ice really upset with himself -- but that's just passion, he's striving for excellence, it's easy to see.
  13. JR of the Post-Dispatch interviewd Andy Murray after the Phoenix game... this is what he had to say about David: Q: Did David Perron show you anything last night? AM: “Flashes . . . there were flashes.” Q: Enough flashes to keep him in the lineup? AM: “We’re going to decide tonight who’s going to play tomorrow. Q: What exactly are you looking for from Perron? AM: “He’s got to play in a top-six role. We’re trying him a little on the power play now. He had a couple of shifts on the power play last night. I just don’t want to see him put on a fourth-line checking role because that’s not helping him. If that’s the case then he should just go back and play junior (hockey). We need a high level of compete that shows he’s ready to play at this level. He’s got to show he’s strong enough. He’s got good instincts. He needs to show he can play with top-six forwards I guess.” Q: Does it hurt Perron that the other two guys (Martin Rucinsky and Doug Weight) are struggling? AM: “I thought Doug Weight was our best player in the game last night. All of our coaches’ ratings and Larry’s ratings and Al’s ratings. I didn’t see John’s ratings, but he was the highest-rated forward in the game last night by quite a bit. Doug was real good last night, so it was probably a good time to play with him. Doug was real good in practice today, so we’re hoping it’s going to go his way a bit.”
  14. I was at the game tonight. It wasn't on any television at all so here's my summary of David's play: Consistent puck pressure and great forecheck throughout the game, looked a little sluggish in the chase but made things happen when he had the puck (most of the time) -- tried to dangle and got stood up early on then a few minutes later had a sick little toe drag to regain control of a rebound... Overall I give his game a B- for the night, his defense could have been a bit better and he made some soft plays for the offensive zone. Again he didn't shy away from physical play at all but at points it looked like he was getting almost manhandled -- he got the raw end a couple of times including a blatant interference hit mid ice after the play and a really dirty face wash on the ice behind the play deep in the Yotes zone which looked like it took a toll on him as he returned directly to the bench. The Blues played an average game the first two periods, right on par with the Yotes who brougt their "A" game tonight (which isn't saying much) -- then after taking the lead in the third they fell apart and it was fucking disgusting. Everyone was chasing and running around -- it looked like it was the first time they had played together. The Blues blew it and left Manny hanging a couple of times causing the Yotes to take the W 2-1 -- Manny played brilliantly though and made some incredibly saves throughout the game. Overall though David had a good game -- people who saw him play for the first time tonight with HIGH expectations may have been let down a little but for an astute observer who knows his game he played strong on the puck and looked very aware. I heard numerous parties talking about David -- some of the stuff was assanine as hell and others were pretty enlightened... seems to be the nature of the beast though.
  15. Here is my updated stock: Everything: Cooper MBP 800 Girdle, Pro Tacks + Sprungs, Intake, RBK 4K Shins: JockPlus one-piece, HS22 Tint Half Visor, Millenium Grippers, Outdoor Pro 250s, extra bearings, Eagle x50, Synergy Socks, Hyper Titanium Pants:
  16. Yeah, 22 minutes + of special teams and Ovechkin played 25 minutes... no flow to the game at all. But, buttom line is -- Blues won and David was apart of that even if it was just 5 minutes.
  17. I'll concede that, he has given the energy line more time than necessary in some more recent games but I believe that is a direct consequence of the under production of Weight's line and the Kid line. Hopefully he changes that "tendancy" when those two lines start to produce and rolls those three scoring lines for a majority of the game.
  18. Aye, that's the point. As it stands right now the Blues have seen some major production from the Kariya line and minimal production from the kid line and the Weight line... The energy line is a role line, absolutely and thye play their roles very well... PK, grinder, energy is their game. The blues need more output from the Kid line and from the Weight line, the kid line will come, it's just a matter of time but Andy Murray has tried so many combinations of forwards in that spot with the Weight line that it's kind of silly, they know Weight likes Perron and the two play a similar game so I hope David can slide in there and round out that line so that all three lines can be as productive as they have the potential to be.
  19. Weight-Rucinsky is a scoring combo, their line needs to be used as a scoring line and they are currently not doing that. THe blues have the following two scoring lines: Boyes-Tkachuk-Kariya McClement-Backes-Stempniak The Rucinsky-Weight-? line should share #2 minutes with the "kid" line (M-B-S) but neither of those two lines has done anything worth looking at... the "energy" line (King-Hinote-Mayers) is good for what they do so the only thing left to do is put someone who is ofensively gifted (such as Perron) with Weight and Rucinsky and hope that tips the scale.
  20. Dougie really likes David and they click really well together, I'm glad that they're going to be playing together again.
  21. Do you know anything? David is getting a better experience practicing every day at the NHL level and at the NHL pace and observing and being around other professional NHL playesr than he would get walking a bunch of kids in the Q. Get real. This is easily the best route for him and when there are injuries (which there will be) he'll be the most ready to step in that he can be. Two different schools of thought. I have always believed that it is better to be playing than to be watching. I also don't believe a prospect should be living in the press box for depth. That is a job for a journeyman or AHL call up. I guess that's why Andy Murray and co. are in the Employee of the St. Louis Blues and you are not. The Q isn't going to help David at this point. His weight and strength training he's doing during practice is worth 10x the experience he would get with another year in the Q.
