Got here yesterday, but of course I had a game Thursday night! Happened with my 1X too haha.
Can't wait to use it, first impressions were how boxy the shaft was compared to my 1X and CX, but it did feel a bit whippier than my QR1 (which was my only gripe about that stick).

Love how my MyBauer 1X turned out! Big fan of how the only MyBauer logo is on the top of the shaft, not plastered all over the stick.
USA color scheme, P14 pattern, 77 flex, griptac and full tactile grip as well. Missed having the full tactile grip.

After my first game with it, I can't say anything bad about it so far. Granted it was just one game, but I never wanted to go back to my QR1. The blade was the best part of it, followed by the whippiness of it.Awesome, thanks. Looking forward to your feedback. The one testimonial that I've heard wasn't overly positive.
I've been particularly hard on Easton in the past, but I'm glad I gave this a shot.

First game in seven months tonight, getting to use this for the first time in a game as well. Took a couple shots with it and the feel was amazing, better than any Easton stick I've ever tried, but I haven't had luck in the long run with Easton in the past, so we'll see how this holds up.

When's the CX slated for release? Can't wait to try one!
June 19th.

Ho-ho-hold tha feck up. Mako gone? Like completely?
New skate could be same fit/tech, but it won't be a Mako. At least that's what I gathered from the Easton PK session.
Sounds like they want to keep everything as a Synergy, Stealth and Pro line going forward
-
What's this Mako M7 skate? Downspec'd M8 with less heat moldability and a softer build? Anyone know the price point for it?
JR, do you know if next year's skate will be a Mako or a Stealth?
It'll be at the $300 price point. Mako is gone after this year.

Did you notice if the Edge holder's mount was a bit off?
I did not. Honestly, the holders were only on long enough to bake the skates haha.

Co-worker got his 1X's in today. I'm in love.

Man our back stock room is NOT big enough to handle all the gear coming out this month haha

Have sold a couple more throughout the week, many have asked, but frankly are stock was never large on them to begin with

A helmet that doesn't fit is not a better alternative, regardless of how well it is supposedly rated.
The problem I have is that these "results" are public without being validated and now people are going to make potentially bad decisions based on them.
This is my biggest issue with these results. I mean, look at the #6 helmet on that list, the 2100. I have a hard, hard time believing anyone is recommending the helmet to the travel hockey player. There's simply nothing to the helmet.
Up to this point the discussion has focused on the 3 star helmet and fitting issues. Hypothetically, what would you do if you had one of the helmets that was rated a 0? Would you, based on the data that is available as of this instant, go out and buy a 2 star rated helmet? I only mention 2 star because in a perfunctory search, Warrior Krown 360's have suddenly become very scarce.
This will be interesting to see as well.
I've worn four of the helmets listed on this "ranking," the Re-Akt, the Re-Akt 100, the 4500 and currently the V08. Of all of these helmets, the V08 fits me the best, by far.
JunkyardAthleticWith that said, perception is reality and the short term reality is that the days of poor fitting helmets are here, as has been reported by a few here, parents are already carrying the article into stores. And it sucks as an employee who simply wants to put the player in the best-fitting helmet.
-
If it lessens the sting, chances are the first time around the mum was probably just as rash in purchasing a helmet, might of been a $300 helmet that doesn't fit much better than the krown. so at the least she's buying something, apples to apples, that is probably safer.
i would think buying a helmet that might not fit but rated safer by one study is better than buying a stupidly expensive helmet that might not fit, but is expensive and accordingly to a manufacturer means its safer. but again, this study isn't written law yet.
Would it surprise you if not even two weeks ago, she purchased said $300 dollar helmet?

We sold 2 Krown helmets today, both to parents who stopped by without their kids, who directly cited this report as the reason for changing helmets. Both times I tried to explain how proper fit works, and how one helmet is not the most protective for everyone. Both times, the parents shrugged off my recommendations and left with their new shiny helmet.
This is the major issue with the study, everyone is so quick to term one helmet a champion, and people refuse to listen to the guys working in stores, that have been fitting helmets for many years.
At this point, the damage is already done. No matter the methods (flawed or not) of the study, the media has ran with it and people are now in a shock and awe stage.
Fucking frustrating that people dont want to listen anymore
This is exactly what I dealt with yesterday. Armed with her trusty iPad and the article loaded up, she came in wanting three of the helmets. Regardless of what I tried to explain to her regarding how each person's head is different, and one helmet may not fit while another one may, she wasn't having it and wasn't going to accept any suggestion I offered. Fortunately, one of the kids was with her, and the helmet did end up properly fitting him.

That's what I've been telling my staff. All things being equal, the head shape must fit the helmet. That is key.
You saw the same thought with the M11.
You will see a surge in demand for Krown helmets, I'm sure.
Had a woman come in today and buy three Krowns specifically because of this article.....thanks, ma'am! Haven't sold one of them in months.

Has there been any info on how much the Speed Plate is going to retail for?

That curve is

Parents wanted me to give it up altogether, but no way in hell I could do that. Especially working in a hockey store haha

New brace after my latest knee injury...now to invest in a new pair of shins wide enough to cover the sidebars on it.

I saw those. I'm not even on a team that wears those colors anymore but still incredibly tempted. Those are some really nice looking gloves, and pretty much the only model 4-rolls on the market I like.
These would fit in PERFECTLY with the Alkali Assault team I was playing for haha, unfortunately though due to me still rehabbing my knee, don't think I'll be playing this year. But, they were too nice to pass up and I'm gonna use them as motivation to get back haha
where did you find these?
are they navy blue and baby blue?
those are our team colors, these would look unreal
Got them through work, but they're also online too. HG has them. They're UMaine colors, so yeah, navy blue and baby blue.

I'm not even playing hockey currently, but I couldn't pass these up...

Got the MRI results today for the umpteenth knee injury I've had since 2005...
Dislocated kneecap, sprained MCL and fibular ligaments, and a torn medial retinaculum. I don't know for sure, yet, but it might be time to hang them up...

Finally! My new CCM Jetspeeds...absolutely in love with the way these wrap my feet. There was a bit of pinching on my pinky toe, but I put my Bauer speed plates in them and away it went. Can't wait to do some surgery to them and throw a Hi-Lo chassis on them! The True XCORE9 stick is interesting. The blade is a bit softer than my 1X and HD1, but I love the shaft of it. Sqaured concave feel and very whippy. Can't wait to use them both!
