  1. got my first road bike crash on monday morning heading to work, rolled it out but messed up my left hand and knee, lost all feeling on the pinkie through middle finger on that hand sure was painful.

Then tuesday last night on the way home to work apparently in the bike trail of a park someone decided that rocks on a hard bend was a great idea for bikes flatted my front, slid out and slammed into a light pole.

it's been a rough two days for my body i guess.

You just described the entire "Occupy" movement.

that sounds about right, i wondered why it looked familiar after posting it.

  2. Good luck! Believe me, the feeling you have on the big day will top the day you heard the news. It just gets better. Enjoy it.

Thank you very much, i agree, once the baby is born its only going to top this and get better

    Congrats, H!

Thanks a lot Hoss, i appreciate it very much

    Congrats man

    Thanks Bobby

    Congrats!!!

    Thanks a bunch man

    Congrats!!

And it just get better from there. Congrats!

You're right, i'm so excited, i went from having noting in my life to now having life just getting better and better every day. Its amazing.

    Thank you all!

  3. I've been holding off until it was 100% confirmed by the doctors because we didn't wanna Jinx it at all. But it was exciting none the less.

Now that it is and 100% GO-GO-GO with it?

My fiancee and i found out we're going to be parents, due date is late June 2012, This is the most amazing news of my entire life, i dont believe that anything in this world could ever top this. I'm gonna do the best and hardest to be a good parent and more, words cannot describe how i feel about this.

  4. Just had a white guy and a white woman, (i'm mexican, from mexico and yes i play hockey and collect stuff too) tell me they're having such a hard time finding jobs because of the market crash and because they live privileged lives in the upper middle white class but they would never give it up to have a job.

I dont know if that was a complaint or a freaking RETARDED human mentality, but since i am meixcan i just responded with " i live in the same area as you, i had a hard time finding a job for over a year and now i'm on a really really good job because I TRIED my hardest to find a job"

they proceeded to just talk that they wont be dropping statistics as to why they can't get a job. Cheap god damn excuses. <-excuse my language. Freaking idiots!

And they're most certainly not upper middle white class, they're in debt up to their necks, and living in upper ghetto class apartments if that exists.

  5. So i've been wanting a road bike so bad for a long time, but they're just so expensive. And i've been scouring CL every few weeks or so. I had to have my bike fixed a few times because its a cheapie and just keeps breaking down.

Yesterday i was on CL while working with a fellow roadie, and i found one the second it was posted as i refreshed the page,

a Giant brand bike from the early/mid 90s, BRAND NEW tires, Brand New Rims, the guy had it but obviously didnt know what it was worth, 20 bucks. I'm so excited.

  6. That might sound like a good idea but they might view that as fishy. In their heads they could be thinking, "Why doesn't he want me to call?"

Yeah i've thought about that but i can provide the documentation and like the one by chadd says i can tell them because i did have a job that told me to do things like that since they will never provide history, neither does the hockey rink i used to be a supervisor at.

    Maybe?

    Just kidding -

as for Phew, yeah probably, that group is a cluster dump, what a huge mess.

  7. And that's why a lot of companies have limited information provided to just that; the policies are lawyer-driven. I don't know that there have been many lawsuits on other information provided, but there are a lot of lawyers looking at that area, and paying attention to where it's going. Heck, even saying something nice about a former employee could bring an accusation that it wasn't nice enough, or a complaint by another former employee when his information omitted saying something nice.

exactly to both of you, it kinda drives me a little angry because, well i looked forward to that job a lot. Kind of retarded. Same thing happened with ebay a few month back, i'm a little disappointed, i think from now on, i'm just going to take a copy of my recent paycheck because this BS is just not worth having them call. You want proof? Heres a stub.

  8. Wasn't there an explanation?

i actually called them and asked for some feebdack "for future reference" and they didnt give any, they simply said "we felt you were a top candidate and then decided against it.

Do you have anything that could be embarrassing on any kind of facebook or other page that could have been found? Companies check up on people online and that could explain the sudden change. The other answer is that they found someone that they liked even better for the position.

I have a facebook but i mostly use it to post pictures of hockey gear i have and to moderate PHEW and talk on a mediocre hockey players of the 90s group, i dont party, i dont do drugs and dont have anything discriminatory, ironically my close friend who works for them her facebook page most of her pictures are of her blowing out weed smoke so you'd think i'd be ok.

When this same thing happened with ebay i found out my current job refused to verify that i worked for them. So i wonder if its the same thing. Like i said to wrangler their excuse was basically really shady, i can't say i was a fan of it. Just gotta move on, but it just sucks because i worked hard to get to the level they were asking of me and then they turn their heads. Oh well i guess. That 6 dollar raise would have been pretty gnarly but i'll find something better.

  9. I dont get it! What am i doing wrong? Three interviews, the job is offered on the first, told i have to go to the second one, they love me and say they will certainly be following up on me being hired, give me my start date and the booklets to study for training soon, and then today i get the email "We have decided you are no longer eligible for the job" are you f000ing kidding me dude? what am i doing wrong? first the ebay job and now this from humana who i busted my ass for the last 9 months to get to the level they had asked of me to be at for hiring.

  10. Seriously, Coheed & Cambria. An acquired taste mainly because of Claudio's vocals. People say they are but, no they are not an emo band and they are not poppy at all. Gotta be my favorite band and people generally only know Welcome Home, A Favor House Atlantic, and The Suffering by them. Totally worth checking out some of their other stuff such as In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth:3, Everything Evil, Here We Are Juggernaut, No World For Tomorrow, 21:13 the list can go on but, thats what I usually start people off with.

I've seen Coheed three times twice accidentally, always the best shows i've seen that weren't hardcore shows. I love their music its amazing never a bad thing.

as for what i've been listening to lately

The Chariot (found their old albums the other night and gave them a spin, way too awesome.)

My American Heart (i got their 'Meaning in Makeup' Cd years ago and never listened to it until this past week, pretty darn good)

One new favorite - The Devil Wears Prada. Their stuff is just awesome, really surprising.

Defeater (when i first heard them i thought , oh ok another harder poison the well band, but turned out to be way better than the misconception)

All Time Low (odd suggestion and i loved it pretty good to chill to)

The Acacia Strain (their old stuff never gets old and their new album is pretty heavy too and better than their most recent one, Continent, which was heavy and good but a little too generalistic.

and i found another RnB/Hip-Hop artist i really really like, Theophilus London, if you like a more mellow Lupe Fiasco this is the guy.

  11. Lost my final grandparent 2 days ago. lost 2 in a month 3 in 2 months. Along with my girlfriend. Life is seriously a fucked up thing.

I'm sorry about your losses man, i really do wish you and your family the best, and i'm really sorry about your girlfriend too, thats terrible no one should have to lose someone like that. I wish her family the best too. Keep your head up dude, it will get better, just always keep their memories with you.

  12. first time i try out my mobile banking on my new droid. Just got paid on thursday, didnt get that many hours but got a good cheque. Excited to drop in money for rent and bills and still save 200 for a new road bike.

Go and transfer 450 to another account to pull it out at the atm for rent, and it goes to a bank account belonging to someone else i gave money to as a gift back in june. Well screw me over. I get the call from this person, "dude you droped 450 into my account wtf? i'm negative on my account man! thanks though"

    'wait what?'

quickly call my bank, "yeah man i made a mistake i need a transaction reversed i accidentally sent money to someone elses account when it was supposed to be to mine so i could pay my bills please cancel it asap before it fully posts"

the lady on the phone said 'not a problem sir we've got you covered, transaction cancelled within 30 minutes it will show on your bank account and you wont have to worry about it.' and hung up on me.

    Go back to work.

Get off work, driving home i go to the atm and pull out 460 for my rent and bills, better in cash than anything else, well the money is there so i think, sweet she got it done for me thankfully.

Wake up friday morning about to place an order, check my bank account. -260 dollars and quickly think "HOLY S#$%!!!"

I call the bank tell them the situation and get some retard woman who tells me the situation is being fixed by the bank in a claim i should be fine i can keep spending even if i'm negative, i call a big bunch of BS to her ear and she proceeds to telling me "well perhaps you should sell some of your belongings or borrow money from someone to satisfy the overdraft and then you wont have to worry about it anymore.

786 dollar check gone in under 24 hours and she's asking me to sell my belongings to pay off this error. Granted i say its on me for trying out mobile banking. But seriously.

I call saturday morning before going into work, talk to a manager in the claims department. I get some annoying news.

"well sir it looks like the lady you spoke with on thursday never set out the motion on your claim to cancel it, in fact she never actually opened your account because it leaves a signature time stamp and she never did it, so theres no way to trace the call and find out who it was. We can set out a motion for it now but at this point its going to be no good unless that person refunds you, but since their account is negative i guess your best bet will be your next paycheck, do you know when you'll pay off this overdraft?"

Gladly i provided the user id and name of that retard from thursday and filed a complaint. But the damage is done. So i worked and got paid over 700 bucks, but only got to use 460 of it and that was strictly bills and rent. Super. I live near the call center for bank of america, if their claims department was not in texas and was the one here, i'd seriously go and find that piece of crap for not helping me out.

  13. Attaboy, H!

THANKS MAN!!! I appreciate it! and awesome about the seaplane i wish i could do that too

Congrats! Now just decide which hockey shops you'll register at.

thank you!!! and i agree, the only near ones are Behind the Mask, so maybe they might hook it up like they do with my blades, or sauce hockey which kind of sucks save for their sharpenings.....icew? haha

Coheed has been one of the best by far EVER bands that i have ever seen live, truly amazing.

  15. Went on a bike ride the other day went to make a turn off the road into a hill(yes az has hills), my girlfriend in front of me on her bike slammed her brakes so i didnt have time to come to a complete halt, and the sidewalk caught my roadbikes tire i flipped over all i kept screaming in my head was "NO NOT MY HEAD NOT ANOTHER CONCUSSION." Basically wrapped my head in my arms, landing on my right shoulder and sliding a few feet before my skin caught some grip and stopped me. Yeah i just wrote that. Next thing i know my bike followed me and my spiked metal pedals slammed and dug into my back. I still cant lift my right arm higher than below my shoulder. I would like to go play puck again but i tried holding my stick and it was just unbearable. To boot, i have to replace the handlebars on my bike, luckily i dont have to replace the pedals those were kept safe.

  16. Thanks man! I appreciate it, The job doesnt really suck anymore i changed how i did the job, basically stopped caring and it started to flourish. And you're right, i went unemployed all of 09 and part of '10 so i certainly do not want that again, i actually enjoy building up money and buying things i need or want when i get around to it instead of wishing.

I'm moving about 4 miles away from my current location, so it'll be 4 miles added to the 300 feet traveled to work, i think i'm gonna like it, i just have to do some better upgrades to my roadbike, it's been taking a beating lately.
