  1. The PRS looking thing is an early 80's Washburn. Apparently it was PRS's first foray into major production/distribution. I don't know the whole story of his time with Washburn, but he did a couple of lines and then split. It's got passive EMG's that suck @ss. The fretboard is carbon which is pretty different. I've been planning on dropping in some Seymour Duncan's but haven't gotten around to it. I had a Washburn rep tell me that they're collector's items, but I can't see why other than for "historical" reasons since the thing isn't worth anywhere near the original sticker price. These were $1k guitars back in the day. I got it off of ebay for $80 and put about $100 in to it to get playable again.

i'm a huge PRS fan i love some of their models his work is amazing, and i had to look it up last night before this and found it, baffled i didnt know he started with Washburn, i hate passive EMG's i actually have a seymour duncan humbucker, i cant remember what it is, you can have it if you pay for shipping, i really have no need for it, My old set up was a Duncan Invader at the bridge and a Jazz at the neck so its probably the jazz since it doesnt have those allen wrench screws on it so its probably and most likely the Jazz pickup, i loved it for rythm sounds. not posting to sell just saying if you want it and i dont want it you can mess with it.

i would love a CE24, but that price tag and my love for more hockey gear beats it so i might just settle for the SE C24 version, and just get a HFS treble and a Vintage Bass humbuckers for one, it'd be amazing.

  2. H, am really happy to here that things are looking up!

I've missed two games, of which my team mates have sent me messages saying that I've been missed at the rink... Looking forward to playing next week, but wont be pushing myself too hard.

Thanks K, i'm happy too, its gonna be so awesome.

i remember you telling me about that and posting pics, that was some funk right there. I'm really glad you're all better now and cheers to a great recovery, better back up than further down, and yeah insurance, thank the everything for that, those head scans from my concussions would have cost a fortune.

  3. So i lost that job they turned me down because i had some stolen credit cards that i fought and fought and fought and the credit card companies refused to believe my psycho ex who attacked one of my good friends would steal my credit cards and go to jewelry stores i wouldnt step foot in and buy herself a bunch of crap.

BUT the good thing was, i dont have to move to a horrible small town like Chandler, where there are no good hockey rinks unless you travel 15 miles, and right now no car means i hitch a ride from a team mate, which means, lots of driving for him.

Why does this get better? We were looking for better places to live at, since the theft of our stuff at this apartment complex, our road bikes and stuff like that, heck even the bench pillows we had in our porch.

WE FOUND A HOUSE. I grew up mid class i guess in Mexico, and poor in this country, just now the money i make at this job (which is actually pretty nice i cannot complain) i find myself looking at my bank account going "holy crap what do i need since i dont buy anything?" Anyway growing up i always, ALWAYS, wanted to live in a two story house, it just always seemed awesome. SO, we were on Craigslist searching for a new place to either buy and or rent, and found a great three bedroom house two story nice backyard, and nice front yard too.

Went on sunday to check it out and walked out, called the owner personally, three hours later we signed the deal to take it. They wanted a one year lease we signed a no year lease with a clause of what it really has to take for them to boot us if we are that bad which we aren't thankfully. And now! On june 16th we will get into our new house with an entire room for just hockey gear, and other stuff, its gonna be great. I'm really pumped.

  4. Anyone listen to old school metal and rock like Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, etc?? Nothing like pulling into the rink parking lot blasting metal and having all the hockey moms give you that look haha

i only love one metallica album, Kill Em All, thats the best one ever to me that whole album is just pure solid, Megadeth and Slayer are always getting play on my itunes or ipod. Not big on Iron Maiden though never been able to get into them.

  5. I've seen This is Hell a couple times when they were touring with bands I like, I can not get into them. Crowbar is sweet but I don't like any of the other bands you've listed. However, I use to love Zao but I haven't listened to them since like 2004 and just to be nit-picky in a friendly manor: they're metalcore, not hardcore. Haha.

I'm into bands like Terror, Bitter End, Cold World, Trapped Under Ice, Alpha & Omega, Blood for Blood, Comeback Kid, Harm's Way, Defeater, etc... so our styles aren't to far off but I've always been extremely picky about my music.

Beats me, when i met Daniel Weyandt he himself told me they were a hardcore band from before he was with them, granted their new album isnt amazing at all.

Metalcore is more of bands like As I Lay Dying, It Dies Today, Confide, Bury Your Dead, Bleeding Through, and Norma Jean and Unearth.

As far as the Metalcore genre you can thank the Metallic Hardcore generators in the amazing band called Botch. I do love Terror, and Comeback Kid (the only thing to come out of Winnipeg worth while next to Toews). Adamantium, Throwdown, old Poison the Well, H20, Gorilla Buiscuits (if they count in that category), Dead To Fall, The Acacia Strain's old albums, old Haste the Day, Dead Like Me, and of course, Black my Heart and Converge

I'm really picky about my music, i can't just listen to anything that sounds like something they have to have their own style in some sort of form, but i'm always on the hunt for something that is awesome.

  6. Four Year Strong is meh. I have a lot of friends who really enjoy them. They have some great songs though.

Funeral for a friend hasn't had a good cd since "hours" in 2005. I haven't listend to this new cd they put out in 2011 but I hope its better than there last couple attempts.

four year strong has some good songs but they're not the best pop/punk ever

Funeral for a Friend's new album is pretty good but their first two albums and their ep's were amazing

  7. man I feel ya, I got out and played some catch and didn't warm up enough and am feeling it right now. I haven't pitched in a couple years now, I miss my fastball

spring in az sucks man, i love taking out the bike and going for a few miles around tempe, and today after around mile 10 i flipped it around and went home as quickly as possible and cranked down the temp on the a/c. I loved the cold that came out lately but its apparently over and now i wont get to ride my awesome new road bike till november if that.

even more annoying is the people who are walking around shirtless or in bathing suits you can tell they're new here saying "oh its warm but i love it out here wow its great" and like my old neighborhood five years ago, 3 or 4 years after one of my stupid neighbors moving in from canada who had the nerve to hate hockey got skin cancer wanted pity, sorry dude you and your wife liked tanning in your back yard or at the pool all the time in arizona where the sun is treacherous, and you ask why you got cancer?

anyway i miss my bike already

  8. i'm really surprised no one listens to awesome bands like

    This is Hell

Zao, one of the best hardcore bands to exist.

i picked up the two recent albums by Far East Movement, turned out to be pretty good choices.

also picked up some Four Year Strong albums good listen there

Funeral for a Friend's new album is damn good too

you cant beat listening to Tiger Army either

lately i have been picking up my old Crowbar albums too

  9. Feeling pretty good for my best friend right now. He plays BCMML(BC Major Midget League) and just left to go to St. John`s for the Telus Cup. I`m seriously hoping that his team takes it all there. Oh and he had to get a mohawk and dye it red(team orders haha!). So a great laugh and blackmail material.

that is awesome, good luck to your friend and his team!

  10. I`d like to throw in that in my case(Ones I know or talked to) are either bandwagoners or really ignorant people, a little too excited because the team`s depth is actually decent(save for Manny`s eye)...even I`m a hardcore Nucks fan and I don`t expect them to win.

then you're a true canucks fan, all i hear from all the "canucks fans" i've been hearing from lately on other forums is "REVENGE IS HERE SERIES OVER" you're up 1-0 homie, far from over, Chicago is a sticky team

  11. This might be off subject to the current convo but i just started using the Flat bottom sharpening recently and the word Impressed is an understatement.

The Flat Bottom V has got to be the best thing i've ever used for sharpening for my skates, i really feel the bite of each single edge, i cracked my right ankle a few years ago and stopping on my right foot just plain sucked everything would just either bite too hard, and after getting that sharpening the feel has been better enough that i've been able to actually stop correctly and do it again. The bite like i said is amazing, basically no drag on the ice at all you can push off and just glide forever and the feel of the ice just feels even better, if this is a gimmick then god forbid it doesn't go away.

  12. Similar thing happened with me and the toy fox terrier my fiancee and I own. Contractor working on her parents home said Rocket (our dog), bit him, his son, and his father in law. This didn't happen as I was there the whole time and saw it all (Rocket barked and growled, but no bite). Guy slowly backtracks on his story to the point where he says it actually never happened at all (not even the barking!)

I don't know about you, but my fiancee and I look at our dogs like our kids, especially Rocket and his brother because they were our first. So I have made a point to ruin his life since....and been pretty successful!

I can be pretty good at giving a person hell for a lifetime, but they're just kids. Their mother is the irritant with all the annoying crap she does like this, we just found out that she's even suing the people in the apartment next to her because they have a big dog and she said it bit them too.

Most ironic, her dumbass kids came over today, knocked, asked my girlfriend "can you let them out we're not afraid anymore" PASS

Rhy's is a rescue dog, probably the best puppy i've ever had, actually, my first dog, so yeah besides my hockey gear and my girlfriend he is like my kid as your dogs are to you, i'm very protective.

  13. I had a great day today. Got to go to NBC studios with a few of my friends courtesy of a family friend, got a tour of the entire facility, which included many things not seen by anyone other than personnel. The SNL set tour was the best, being able to walk out of the door where many famous guest hosts such as George Carlin, Will Farrell, Mr. T, Gretzky, and O.J. Simpson used to get to the stage.

DUDE, this makes it an awesome experience to me, i mean seriously just getting to see the SNL set where some of us grew up watching it over the years and the tour of the entire facility! Whatever friend of a friend you have i wish i had since i used to do theatre and SNL was "the show" to me besides of course everyones dream to play hockey as a pro.

  14. My girlfriend works from home, so she wakes up at 6am and i go sleep in the futon on the living room until i have to wake up and go to work around noon. She took the dogs out, we have these neighbors, middle eastern who keep calling me and her "american devils" i kid you not!

they have three kids they dont watch who run around doing the dumbest shit ever, why their legs and necks aren't broken baffles me. They are always teasing our dogs throwing rocks at our windows, in fact i dont put it past them that they're the reason our window was shattered two months ago since i caught them throwing rocks at my shih tzu barking at them on the window. So they run around chasing our puppies including our pug who has no front teeth shes so old. their mom comes out side to take them to school they actually stop smiling, stare at my lady, look at their mom and begin screaming in terror yelling that our dogs were chewing them up. Hosebeast calls the cops on my girlfriend, threatens to sue. Cops actually tell her to fuck off. Apparently she's suing our neighbor because her dumbass kids were stupid enough to stick their hands into the small part of the patio fence and he bit them Shame no arm was lost how stupid they are. So she probably wants more money?

so about 9 hours pass later in the day my girlfriend takes the dogs out again and out of nowhere this hosebeast runs out of her apartment screaming at her again that her evil dogs are out and will attack her kids.

SOMEONE is a god damn moron and needs to be hit by a bus.

  15. hahahaha, oh god people getting kids faces tattooed on them, thats horrible!!! and ugly! My friend ken got it right, and his story was awesome, he said basically he broke all ten commandments growing up, yep all ten which kind of blew me away when considering even all you non religious types know those at least. Well he figured he would get the tablets and put the ten most sacred words on his arm, and so all ten of his kids are on the "tablets" on his arm and in small letterform their birthdates, i loved that!

  16. Vandals broke into the rink after closing on Saturday, or else hid while we closed up, then went around and broke a bunch of windows, stole money from the register, and sprayed fire extinguishers.

We stayed closed on Sunday, but opened up today, going through the schedule as planned. Which means I now have 40 kids aged 4-9 running around in the lobby, protected from broken glass and a coating of extinguisher dust by some benches and caution tape.

Dude, that is still not safe, what the hell is wrong with people, when i was a super visor this guy threw a cinderblock through one of the front doors at the rink and left a note saying "fix that bitches" and then another guy brought a screwdriver and undid a lot of screws on the glass so when there was a hit as players skated away the panels popped out and CRASH.

  17. Oh man do I know how that goes, I'm Mexican born but sound completely American but they always think I'm in some other country and don't believe me when I tell them. Last time I told this guy "I don't have to prove you anything or tell you my life story about where I'm from but if you think I am making this up for my own good trust me I have better things to do"

I'm mexican born too, my first language is spanish, my second is english and my third was chinese but that went to crap over the last few years, i learned english watching hockey games and step by step so i have no accent sound pretty north american english type but when i pronounce my name people think i'm trying to sound latino and faking it, when in reality i'm not i just worked hard to not have an accent and sound more educated, its more annoying here with that SB1070 that basically lets cops approach me to see if i'm illegal or not which has happened twice already
