Ah, so YOU'RE the one who beat me on that auction! :-) That guy sells some good pro stock Warrior blades from time to time. I actually have a tapered Dolo blade that looks and feels nothing like its retail counterpart that I bought from that same seller. It's an awesome blade. The weave on that one definitely caught my eye, as it looked it be a Widow-type blade. Let us know how it plays!

Literally been waiting a month for my Combat shaft to show up. It was supposed to ship out on a certain date, but it took longer than expected, so I obviously couldn't use it for the first 3 weeks of the season. UPS finally takes possession of the shaft and after a delay, they schedule it to ship, spend a week in transit, and show up late today. Great, I figured, seeing as my next game is tonight and I'll probably be able to rush home from work, open it up, throw a blade in it, prep it, and use it in time for tonight. UPS guy never shows and finally they update their tracking number on the site for it to say: "Package lost and then found at UPS facility. Delivery delayed until next business day or indefinitely."

Those aren't all Modano's pro stock sticks. Some of them are retail models in his retail curve, hence the variance in flexes. He has typically stuck with about a 95 flex.
-
Let's see more of that stick!
-
That picture even has a way of making it look like it's a decent mid curve. Some of his game-used ones I've seen seem to have about half that much curve.
-
The first time, I was. The second time I was extremely stern and made myself clear. Regardless, the only thing that would have stopped him is chasing him down and physically taking the stick from him. I figured, go ahead. I hope he breaks it. I'll just tell him I paid the original $129.99 Bauer wanted as MSRP for the shaft.

Have a guy on my team who is fairly skilled, but just doesn't realize that he's a douchebag. He has his tried and true Ultra Lite he's been using for years, but every now and then he'll snap the blade on it because he literally ONLY takes slapshots. He didn't used to have a backup stick, so he'd use someone else's crappy backup, but he finally decided to buy his own. He bought a shitty Easton wood stick and I honestly don't know why because he refuses to use it. A couple months back I had tracked down a brand new Easton Cyclone shaft and brand new Easton Z-Carbon blade, both from around 2001. It was my favorite combo in high school, so I put them together and figured I'd mess around with it in warmups and then just keep it as a nostalgic backup. It was freshly taped on both the handle and blade and saw about 2 minutes use from myself in warmup. Fast forward to the 2nd period when this D-bag on my team breaks his stick. He comes back to the bench and instead of grabbing his backup, he grabs mine. "I'm going to use this." "What? Why? Thought you just bought your own backup?" "Yeah, but it sucks, so I'm going to use yours instead." "No you aren't. Normally I wouldn't mind, but I just spent months tracking down both that shaft and blade. They don't even make them anymore." "Well I won't slash anyone with it then." He then proceeds to rip off the tape on the blade (he prefers no tape on his blade) as well as most of the handle. He must have seen the look on my face as I stared down the bench at him because he says, "I don't like this tape!" I was downright fuming as he went out and proceeded to start blasting slapshots and attempting one-timers with my stick as if he had no regard for breaking it at all. Fast forward to last week and I have a brand new X60 shaft that I'm trying to get accustomed to. Once again, I figured I'd use it in warmup to get used to it a bit, then keep it on the bench as a backup to my One95. D-bag snaps the blade in his Ultra Lite again and grabs my X60 despite the fact that he still has his own untouched backup stick. "Hey Scott, I'm using this." "NO, you aren't. It's literally brand new and it's about 20 flex less than you're used to using." "Well anything is better than my backup." "I'm not kidding. You're not using it, especially with your playing and shooting style." "Okay.... well I'll just use it for now. Sorry if I break it." "You won't have to be sorry because you'll pay me for it. And it was expensive." I then hopped over the bench for a quick change on the fly and as I'm coming back after my shift, guess who is jumping over the boards with my new X60? Yup. Went out and used it with reckless abandon without a care in the world. Oh, and did I mention that this guy will only pass about every 1/10 opportunities and would rather try to stickhandle his way out of a phone booth every time than use an open teammate? I think I hate him.

Congrats Kev, I know that's monumental for you. Stick seems to show more shine than I'd expect that version of Easton's grip to show. It is the same as their retail waxy grip from then?
-
Aaaand I just became really excited. Any other pictures of the stick?
-
Not as boxy? The Vapor series has always been more rounded to begin with....
-
Exactly. He'd already made a name for himself and his coaches/teammates knew his abilities, but the rest of the league was seeing it too right when he got injured.
-
Nice Conroy One95.
-
From what I remember reading in the past, his sticks (once switched to Warrior OPS) weren't of the traditional bonded tapered blade/tapered shaft construction, but rather a fused standard shaft and blade because that was how he preferred his sticks since he used the Easton aluminum shafts for so long.
-
By chance could we see some more pics of the Shanahan AK? Curve? I don't see a whole lot of his sticks around.
-
Yes, basing it on looks alone, it seems to be the same one used on the original Synergy and Z-Carbon blades.
-
He had an additional pic in another thread:
-
That's what many people would have said when told that Yzerman's real curve was actually the retail Drury.
-
The only one I've ever felt reminded me of a larger diameter version of an old Easton Classic silver tip aluminum shaft.
-
I thought they looked rounded in the picture as well, but quickly dismissed it as just the photo because Ilya is known for using super boxy shafts, just as Shanahan did.
-
Drew, where in the hell did that gold Synergy come from?
-
I just bought my second pair of those the other day. My first was from when they first came out and the other was a great deal at like $35 used. Amazing gloves.
-
Just bought these beauties. I bought a pair (in black with white trim) back in the early 2000s when this 2nd gen first came out and absolutely loved them. Wore a massive hole in the palm of my top hand, but just switched back to them the other day because my Warrior Dolomite gloves developed holes in the palms within 5 games and became absolutely unusable within 7-8 games as the fingers all ripped through and side materials opened up (horrible quality on those palms...). So I switched back to my old Z-Airs, then found these online and had to have them.

First goal tonight was just a great snipe off the metal and in, second was a Kovalev-type dazzler as he toe dragged in and around a defender, then went high backhand past the goaltender. He looks more and more like his idol every time he plays (just with a lot more tenacity and drive).

Heading to my first Blues game of the season on Saturday night versus the Pens to see our boy Perron play. Absolutely cannot wait.

TBL, I see that the inside cuff logo on the Eastons shows "E Pro". Is this an official way to separate pro-stock gloves from the retail E-pro version or not? Just curious because I know there are tons of regular E-pro gloves all over Ebay and many such as yourself have always said that people would crap a brick if they could see how much better the pro-stock version is.
