Recommended Posts

Hey,

I know we talk about synergy blade splitting but i whanted to have some advice..

So my synthesis si-core blade started to split on the bottom, it about 2-3 inch long...but it isnt deep!! it maybe 2 mm deep..

So i whant to prevent this...Would crazy glue do the job?? or epoxy...or any other thing??

Thanks in advance

Alex...

You could try either one, just don't expect it to add to much life. I have never tried crazy glue, Im guessing epoxy would probbly work better.

JB Weld works best, or maybe Gorilla Glue. Epoxy will just crack and fall off, and glue won't do anything.

Wouldn't the expansion of the Gorilla Glue force it farther apart?

crazy glue isn't very durable it'll break within your first shift I think. Epoxy is similar to the stuff they use in the manufacture of the blades (they use a polymer resin with ball park properties similar to epoxy) I used it to repair my snowboard when the topsheet was cracked and its survived a few trips to the mountain since. The repair is holding up. What I did was mix the epoxy then put lots into the crack and then I took some thin sheets of wood and put them on the face of the snowboard to protect it. I then clamped the whole thing together with C-Clamps and let it cure for 24 hours to be safe.

Epoxy was the elixir for my wood sticks growing up. I used to only go through a couple woodies a year.

I suppose it could if you put too much in there. I haven't used the stuff, but I know a few guys who have, they say it works pretty well...

Same. It worked great. Almost two years later its still holding up.
