Looking For New Pants

Recommended Posts

I need to replace a pair of ccm 652 tacks pants and am curious if anyone has any recommendations/experience with the new Easton Synergy 500's or Mission M2/L3 or Nike quest 2. I play in a no-hit league but am looking for something light and mobile but with some protection for falls/sticks/pucks. Thanks!

M2 were great pants for the money. Probably the best deal in pants for the last couple years. Do any of your local dealers have the L3 pants yet?

Yeah, thats the problem. My local shop only carries Bauer and CCM for pants. I've heard good things about the M-2's and can find them for around $50 usd but haven't heard any players opinions on the L-3s. The Easton Synergy 500's sound intriguing, possibly lighter and a little better fitting than the Missions, but that info is from an Easton salesman. So, I'd like to hear someones real world experience with them.

I didn't care much for my M-2's. I didn't like the belt right against the skin on the inside and they just didn't feel like they fit me right.

I think my problem was being 5'10" with a 34" waist and good sized rump. I needed the large for the waist and behind room but I had to wear them so the belt was above my waist in order for the leg length to be right. I also found I much prefer stretch material on the inside of my thighs to zippers.

i gotta go with the quest 2 there wicked pants light and comfy

His LHS only carry Bauer and CCM, but yes, the Bauer 6000, which is basically the equivalent to the Nike Quest 2's are great, exactly what you want - no-hit league looking for something light and mobile but with some protection for falls/sticks/pucks.. ps.. they look pretty sharp too.

I still have a pair of quest 2's that I can't give away. The spine protector that sticks straight up in the air and doesn't do anything other than bunch up the jersey really puts a lot of people off to the Nike pants. Plus the lack of zippers in the legs doesn't help either.

Actually, I've found with my 6000's that the spine protector works good for protecting the lower back. And I prefer the stretch material in the inner thigh so much more than zippers. I've seen a couple pants that actually have both zippers and stretch material. That could be interesting.

Thanks for the input. I was able to try on a pair of Bauer 6000's and they felt comfortable and with enough protection but was a little dissapointed that they didn't have leg zippers. I've gotten kind of used to the zippers from my ccm 652's. Anyway, I've decided to order a pair of Synergy 500's which will be in next week.

The new CCM pants are much improved over the ones they've been selling over the past couple years as well.

I actually liked the spine protector in the Quest 2's. It makes you "feel" more safer if anything was going to happen to you.
