CCM Survey

Recommended Posts

I never got the email, but that's ok. I hate how the most important aspect of everything is appearance. I do recall filling out a survey a couple years back that had renderings of several styles only, no color or brand names.

Look at my modified post, i chose the wrong words to use. I just dont like it with the green and yellow RBK logo. Now if the RBK loge was just white, thats what i could like. Im not saying the 8090`s are a bad pair of sktes just not my taste on all aspects of the coloring on the skate. I have the Vector pros and there not that flashy, i had the XX`s and there not that flashy.

I'd put the VP's up there with the Z-Air Comp SEs as the top "flashiest" skates.

It seems a fair enough survey - they're just trying to maxumize the shelf appeal of the skates. It would be a bit silly to ask the general public to help design the features on the skate, but makes sense to get this sort of info on what looks nice.

And I'm sure that there was one pair of pictures that you had choose between that were identical. Most had something coloured differently, but on one I couldn't find a single difference.

Finally, anyone notice that the plastic piece just back of the toe cap had dissappeared on the Vector Pro pictures? It's there in the picture of the current model (on the lineup of three different models) but not on any of the other versions?

The difference in the skates were as follows: toe cap, toe cap for CCM, then I forget, then Logo color for the Rbk's. I'll look at it again...

edit: the third one is the logo fill on the logo by the toe cap.

I just find it hard to believe that anyone would look at a skate and immediately have an opinion as to where it was made or if it was better quality than another model simply because of the color.

I know there are a lot of impressionable kids out there who would choose a skate based on how shiny it looked. Whith that in mind, it is those same kids who associate silver and sparkles with quality and performance. The "made in canada" might be a stretch, but I know a lot of people associate "made in Canada" with high quality...whether it's true or not. To them, high quality and "made in Canada" go hand in hand. So with all that logic, silvery skates must all be made in Canada. In the end, it's all marketing, and ccm is only looking for input on which color scheme the consumer associates with quality, performance, price, and everything else.

I understand why they're doing it. The problem is that actual production decisions may be based on the answers they get from a bad survey like that one.

I couldn't agree more! Seems like a waste of time and energy to me, but they just want to sell as many pairs as they can, and if the green emblem is prettier than the yellow one maybe they'll sell a few extra pairs.
