elbow pads

Recommended Posts

throughout this past winter i wore a pair of itech elbow pads, i think they were called matrix or something of that sort, but by the end of the season they were so ripped up that i went and bought a pair of bauer vapor 8's i think. the problem is, ive been wearing those for a few months and still cant get used to them. they just feel so bulky and they slide around to a point of discomfort. i feel like i always have to adjust them while im playing or on the bench. i was wondering if anyone on here had any suggestions of pads that they think feel pretty flexible/light/not bulky but still provide decent protection. at 5'7 165, im a smaller guy so that may be important. i will definetely try on any of the suggestions i get before i buy them, i was just looking for some ideas.

Go with the Jofa/RBK middle to high end line. I have the 9144 right now and there great. Slimed down with more movement and more protection than the previous model. There is nothing better IMO.

I have the rbk 7k elbow pads. the first couple of times i wore them, they were really uncomfortable, but after a few skates, they have now "molded" and i barely even notice them. i have a lot of self-induced spills, and i never feel a thing. i recommend them.

A lot of people, myself included, have been very impressed with the new DR EP44 elbow pads. I've sold a bunch of them already. They're very modile and protective at the same time. They also have three straps and an elastic forarm wrap that holds the pad in place even if the other straps come un-done. The new Itech 660s aren't bad either.

I ordered nike v-10s a few months back for a steal $35cdn after shipping.. I used to use some franklin elbows that were too small

these suckers now don't slip out of place, don't feel big at all and it doesn't even feel like i'm wearing them. Plus I think they do a good job of protecting my elbow

V10's are the way to go. Superlight and very mobile. Not to mention the great feel of the nike dri-fit liner :)

MISSION M-1's !! There is a thread that I started many months ago asking about these verses the Koho 4440's. I bought the M-1's and I've been very very happy with them. Look at that tread and see some of the other suggestions. The Nike and Jofa are good, obviously with all the glowing endorsments you're getting and that I got as well, but have a look at the M-1's. I really like them. Super comfy, they don't slide because of the inner-liner and strap system, and you can move great in them.

Nike V-Series line, V-10, 12, 14 are solid.

I'll second the Nike V line elbow pads. I have Nike V-12 elbow pads and they feel great. Not too bulky yet still very protective.

I Liked the nike line of elbow pads but they have been sliding off of my elbow quite a bit lately. I also don't like that the front/bottom strap on the THG Pro STK model isn't elastic...doesn't stay tight.

My next pair will probably Synergys. They're very mobile and protective and they stay in place well.

I have an old pair of Ferland Crusader elbow pads that I put sock tape over to keep them in place. I wonder how many rolls of tape I have to go through before it makes sense just to get new ones??
