Skates: wide models

Sven, as you ain't too far from Cologne, Germany I'd suggest checking out the new hockey store inside Kölner Haie's training facility (Kölnarena 2). Provided you are willing to shell you the bucks, they have Nike Flexlites in EE in all sizes. Nothing runs wider than that to my knowledge.

They also have Vapor XXXs in EE and I got the general impression that this shop jumps on the "wide" bandwaggon.

We could meet us there, if you want to.

Just message me.

Flexlights. Really wide but they get a bit narrow in the toebox.

narrow in the toe box? The Flexlites probably have the largest toe box of any skate...

I dont know if you like the Synergy skate line but those are great skates that run pretty wide.

I've heard that about the Synergy's too. They have the 700's and the 900's on sale, te 700's are 289 and the 900's are 379. I'm thinking i'll prolly get the 700's, so i'll let you know.

I had the same problem, I found that Nike V-series work well, I tried on both a V-9 and a lower model of the Flexlite and they seem differnt, both same size both EE. From first hand expierence the V-series has a wide forefoot and a slightly narrow heel which I like because it locks in the heel so it dosnt slide around, I find the flexlites to squeeze the sides of my forefoot more and a wider heel.

Smaller is better as long as it doesn't hurt. And there is nothing wrong about skating barefoot as long as you take good hygienic care of the skates.

Take out the insole and put your foot on it, if you are done growing then you should go to the end of the insole or you should be feathering the toe cap while laced up in the skates. For growing feet I believe is no more then a finger width of space between big toe to end of insole.
