I know this is proberbly the wrong forum but i was wondering if any of you guys know anyone that want to sponser and hockey players. you see i live in England Great Britain and we NEVER here of scouts coming over from america and i think this is unfair on our behalf i dont know if you will agree but i would really like atleast one every know and agen to come see what potential we have here. i have been looking for sponsership for over a year and because i am English i can't find any. i am a really good player who is captain of the Greatbritain team which is going to new orleans in july (I don't know if you have heard about that torunament its the junior olympics in new orleans) i would be the happest guy in the world if anyone would consider checking me out does anyne in her dothat kind of stuff????

does it mean a captain is the best of the team?no, normally it's the leader. I have not seen you play for sure so I can't judge, but continue to play for fun and train your self a lot and it will pay off, just my opinion and let the scouts out of that seriously, play for you not for them. How old are you by the way?

yes yes i know the whole captain thing but you see it has always been like my dream to go over to america to play and all that and now i have the chance and i would love to be sponsered for it i mean even if anybody can go down to the tournament to just look i would like that. i am 14 rite now but i am not no rookie believe me.

It's the AAU Junior Olympics and it's a roller tournament. I've spoken to the organizers and there planning on 200-300 teams of 10-18 year-olds. (I'm going off my memory.)

I considered having a booth at the Junior Olympics, Shelton, but two weeks is a long time to be away from the office and home.

AAU is definitely not NARCh or Torhs....Those are the two top roller tournaments...

What Team Canada is he playing on like what age and where is it based out of. I havent heard anything about a team canada going to new orleans because there are so many different national organizations here that I dont know which is the one to follow.

I'm not familiar with a league in Italy that I hear pays people..but there are no scouts..sure if you play well against a team that is known to "recruit" there is a chance they will ask you to skate for them..but otherwise..the Elite League has a draft...PIHA or whatever it is now..had their own team tryouts..you pay a fee you tryout.. etc best way to get seen and play for a major team if you don't live in their area...is to tear it up at NARCh in Plat

Yea it is still called the PIHA and from what I know yes there is a league in Italy and they have asked some players from America to go play for there teams and they from what I have heard get paid extremely well for just playing roller hockey but the down side is the rinks in Italy all have Wood Floor mainly from what I have heard. Well that’s a down side for me. Since I prefer not to play on wooden floor but I have never been there.

Wait....Shelton, why are you worrying about scouts. First off, it is roller hockey and second, you are 14. The closest you can get to being recruited is someone recruiting for a team they want to set up. And even then, what are you gonna do if they do want you to play for them? Move to America? Sorry but i am jsut confused.

even though there are kids who play roller in the WHL and many other Major Jr leagues..they weren't found through roller...

I meant that even though kids are 14, they are still getting scouted. My interpretation of what Patrick8 was saying was that due to his age there won't be scouts watching. Which as I proved is very wrong. Kids here get scouted from age 11 up. Wasn't really in relation to roller at all.

That seems a bit odd i thought roller hockey was more popular in n.america i thought they would have paid leagues there?
