How is RBK hockey selling in the stores?

Recommended Posts

Guys, is Rbk taking any business from the Bauer Nike hockey company?

Does the new brands inncrease the sale of products from the hockey company, our is it just older Jofa and CCM customers that is buying RBK stuff ?

How is the situation with Bauer, are they having problems as some people is saying, my rep told me about 30 prosent less sale this season, and Nike products down allmost 60 prosent, is that true from the store owners point of v00iew?

Hope to get some info on this subject, i can feel this trend but like to get some more info from other parties!

We're slow right now mostly because of the lack of ice time being sold right now. I know other shops that are having pretty good sales right now because their ice slots are sold out.

I don't know whether RBK is starting a trend that will include most companies, or just those that feel they have enough brand awareness to get away with it.

Speaking from a smaller manufacturer's perspective, I don't want to sell directly from my website for many reasons. (However, I might start selling some of our clothing and bags off the website to create awareness, since the retail channels are so different.)

First, shipping is a pain for onesy-twosies, particularly for sticks. It's a lot easier to send a box with ten sticks -- at the same cost -- than wrapping up one OPS in plastic. Returns due to wrong sizes could easily increase. Last, although it may appear you're making more profit by not having to give a discount to a retailer, there's no doubt your sales reach will dry up and most likely prices will erode due to lack of brand awareness, so there goes much of that new profit.

Maybe the Eastons of the world could join RBK, but the small manufacturers want to get into pro shops, not out.

Salming, are you saying RBK will ship directly to the customer from their website?

Yes, someone posted a link from RBK's website yesterday, although I can't remember in which thread. Apparently, it's their lower end products, which the retailers said are bigger sellers than the high end products.

Yeah, mostly low end stuff is popular here. The 3k series is doing really well but the Jofa low end stuff always did well(same thing basically)

Since I've been carrying RBK it has been selling very well, helmets, sticks, shins, goal equipment, and pants especially. The real buying season is just starting now as kids get in the summer camps. I expect the frenzy to start for me tomorrow. My big problem with RBK is all the back orders that have not been delivered in time for the buying season. It's going to really suck wqhen I don't have something in stock I ordered in January!
