Broken Lightspeed Holder

Recommended Posts

I mentioned this in another topic, and I didn't get any help, but my lightspeed holder broke along the upper part of the plastic, and it still skates ok. So I was curious how much longer these can last me like this, and how badly do I need to get it fixed?

The red line is where it snapped. The whole piece is broken through, and it doesn't line up anymore, I can't even push it to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

On a smaller note, I was looking for suspenders for my pro stock bauer 5000's, and I was wondering if they still make any suspenders where the part that you hook onto the pant is made of fabric or leather. I ask mainly because I don't think the metal studs in the pants are long enough for the shell and suspenders.

Thank you!

Your screwed ,same thing happened to my friend but on both holders, next time he went to skate, he tried to stop and almost broke his leg( the steel snapped and the force broke the rivets and half of the holder came off on one skate)

I'd say just don't skate on them to risk injuries and buy some new holders/skates(if you want or need another pair) but that's my opinion.

Maybe wait untill JR see this, he'll probably give you a better help than me since he's the king when we are speaking of skates.

If they don't break next time you hit the ice, you're skating on your heels. Order the replacements now. Try getting some suspenders at a regular retail store, not a hockey shop. Most suspenders that are designed for regular clothing are made of leather or a synthetic equivalent.

I'm not sure if I just want to get the holder replaced anymore. I'm not a huge fan of my nikes (v-12's) right now, they fit alright, but if I skate on them 3-4 times a day for a week and they are getting wet, they really irritate my arch and sometimes the bottom of my foot just hurts.

Also, if I have had these skates since march and logged probally over 100 hours of ice on them at a high level. Does anyone have an idea of how long they'll last me?

Lastly, does anyone have any suggestions for new skates to try on if the supreme 8090's felt good, the v-12's felt good, and the missions had absolutely no hope of fitting my ankle bone right, and vapor XX's fit ok but tended to bother the ouside of my forefoot. (note that all those but the vapor XX (my old skates) were all at the store, the nikes didn't feel so hot on the ice...)

Thanks for any help on any of these topics...
