standard shafts

Recommended Posts

What is currently the lightest (retail) shaft on the market? Anyone know? I am only thinking about standard shafts, though. Not tapered.

I´m asking because I am in a bit of a dilemma. I will get a whole bunch of 2 or 3 year old Christian Puckmaster blades (yes the old diamond sock ones with standard, long hosel) and I will need an extra shaft for them. Some years back I used them in the old Ultra-Lite shafts and that felt perfect but since the newer UL models became more bulky in my opinion I am looking for something that goes well with this type of blade regarding balance as well as weight. I think the Christian blades are fairly light so I will probably need a light shaft with rather concave handle.

So the question....does anyone have any experience with the combination of those blades and current shafts?

Thanks!

When ever I've used a Christian blade its always been very heavy and throws the balance of the stick all out of wack.

The 2005 blades are much different from the ones from a couple years ago. I thought the old ones were craptastic.

Alot of guys hate the old Christian blades but I am not one of them. They were in fact a bit heavy but gave a great feel for the puck. Durability? OK "craptastic" does apply in that area.

A nice shaft for me * I would like to try it if i had money * is the Vapor X...concave 280 gram...and a really good-looking shaft!

If not my Z-bubble hold 1 year!! which is more than excellent!! and super light...

I don't know in your area but in some Montreal store...the Appolo(white-orange) are selling for 80$ CND...i think these shaft are pretty light...but when you hold a OPS... It seem pretty heavy...because of the blade...but the shaft itselft is light...and concave

Ya, I forgot about the new ones. Once Harrow bought Christian they've changed the products around so much. Last year while I was waiting for my warranty replacement for my ops I used one of the new Christain woodys and it wasnt half bad.

We didn't buy any 2004 product because we didn't like the fiberglass sock on the blades. The new one is much, much better.

the redlite xn10 is not actually 250g, its labelled as 250g, but when i measured it with a commercial grade scale, a 45" redlight xn10 weightd exactly 250g.

Zbubbles are 47.5", and listed correctly at 275g

i think the real weight of the redlight xn10 is closer to 265g

I don't know about the lightness here...but I had a Sher-wood taper flex with a nike blade that I love, the shaft fits a standard blade but shoots like it's a OPS.

It feels like they use a whole different kind of wood. Do you know any thing about this?

No, I don't have any 2004s to use for comparison and I don't recall my rep or anyone at Christian mentioning it.
