KOR Skates

Recommended Posts

If the Kors weren't stiff enough for you, you have major issues. They do have insoles as well, they are just sewn-in and not removeable. Bauer doesn't permit any skate to be sold with "their" holder and Kor tested with every holder on the market, not just Bauer. I recall the original videos that were posted showing Tuuks, prolites and even Easton holders I believe.

I am pretty sure I am not going to be the only one not satisfied with the fact that the skates are not stiff enough. It makes sense to provide a softer boot in order to increase the turning radious as it allows more extension in the ankle area, but that also comes with sacrifice. Have my word on it that that will be the reason why the Kor skates will never be very popular among pro players, just like the Nike skates never really caught on, because its a soft skate.

I saw how the skate is made, and what components the skate is composed of and the composite shell only covers about 60 % of the foot (lower part), the other 40 % of the skate is really soft.

So going by your logic, the best skates on the market are the Vector Pro, Pro Tacks and Vapor XXX because they're made in Canada?

Not at all, but I was somewhat surprised to find out that the skates are made in China, given the fact Kor is a small company from Canada.

Softer boot allows for better knee bend and better leg extension allowing you to generate more speed. A softer boot is not better for turning, it's better for getting more power out of your stride.

Pitch's kill Tuuks, especially the Tuuks that have been produced lately. The percentage of bad Tuuks I see is through the roof right now. It's a shame because I used to use them on all of my skates before I got my S500s and Kors.

Kor's connection to asia goes back to when one of their principals was at K2, and they had items made over there and shared one place with Oakley

from what I've been hearing, Kor skates are really, really good!

My friend who makes Skates for the CDN Speed Skating team, told me a couple of the new "fit" innovations coming down the pipeline, and Kor certainly falls into the category of boot fit innovators.

I can't wait to demo them at some point.

cheers,

greg b.

So is thier any other comments about the "feel" of the KOR skates skating or otherwise? I don't know exactly what to be asking as these are so different, so do they skate funny, and are they a soft boot from the foot up, or is the boot all the same?
