Need new skates...1152 fitting question!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Well i can't get used to my flexlite so i need new skate. i will skate back in what i was used to...1152 tacks

But i was in 8E...with my flexlite i am in 9EE...online(because there no Hockey store i know who still have 1152...) i can only find 9d and 9½D

question: Should i get a haf point more to get the wide i was getting with the E or there no really difference with a 8E and a 9D??

Thanks

Alex

well i just ask for a 9 and it felt good...so i pick them...but as you can see i was skating in E of CCM...so maybe it doesnt matter too much...

i have maybe ''fat'' foot well not that much but NOT CLOWN FOOT lol!

No it does matter. If your foot moves from side to side the skate is worthless, not to mention the fact that EE's tend to fit longer. ex) I'd need a 7D Vapor XXX or a 6.5EE Vapor XXX

Do you thinks guys there a way to get a 9D in exchange my skates..??

Damn that piss me off...i dont have the money to buy another pair of skates! in 1 month!

I feel like i have too much loose in my skate when not lacing the top eyelet....and now when lacing the top eyelet...i just don't feel good skating backward...and crooser are not better too...

Go complain, thats bullshit IMO. I'm picking up a pair of 6.5d 12's today, when I used my friend's I felt fine with the top eyelet undone. Then again I've been skating in Grafs the past month.

I just found that a place where they have 1152(300cnd) 952(250cnd) and 852(200)

Does it worth to get the 1152 or for 50 less i'm better with the 952??

Thanks

Have you thought about 04 Pro Tacks. I had 1152's in a 8.5 and I found the fit of the 04 Pro Tacks similar if not better. 300cdn seems a little steep for 1152's. I'm sure you can find 04 Pro Tacks for about 240cdn.

i tried the 1052 which is close to the pro tacks...they feel good..but i'm still not sure and don't whant to make a second error!!

As a side note...i paid 350cnd for my 1152 2 year ago...and buying them online at 1800faceoff...would cost about 275-300cnd...

PRO TACKS 2004...400CND plsu tax...everywhere! and i really like the wedge stab...the white thing you can lace them...

I'm a Tacks guy, but I wouldn't go with the 952's as there is a bad batch out there that has rear tendon guards that break down quickly. In that year CCM tried to make them lighter so they used a plastic that didn't work too well.

I like my 852's, and they're standing up very well over the three years I've had them, but then again, I'm pretty light (165 lbs) so my skates don't take too much of a beating despite playing 3 times a week -- year round.

Good luck!

JJ

Hey guys, Just whanted to let you know...after your advice(finding that my problem was a wrong sizing skate) I had been helped by one of the guys from BNH at ST-JÉROME(quebec) and he said a rep to my LHS store...and talk to the owner so that way i could get a great sizking skates..!!

The owners didn't seem to replace my skates...(they was saying the problem was the steel not in the center) but with the pressure of the reps...they finally end up getting me another...so my news flexlite10 are on his way to the store

I'm really happy now, with this super service...( i remember justin did something like this to dinferno i think) ANYWAYS JUST WHANT TO THANK YOU BNH(cuz you could have ignore me) and modsquad...because without your help maybe the guys from bnh wouldn't have contact me!

CONCLUSION: Like some guys said...keep complaining and you might get what you whant!! Once i will have them...i will review them!

EDIT: If some are interesting: i switch from 8E CCM(it not they were really too small just kinda fed up! after 2 year 4x time per week 52 week long..) then from 9EE then to 8.5D!

There are some very good and very helpful people at BNH. If the people involved are who I think they are, it doesn't surprise me at all that they would help you.

Still don't feel good in my F10...i'm selling them on ebay...

I can't find a store who have E width.... i'm in 8E...what would be a perfect size would have been 8.5E...but if they dont have it...Would a 9D would fit the same??

I.E: to make fit something that is 1 point wider...you need .5 size?? 8.5E=9D?? is that true..

Thanks ..OR is it possible to like ''strecth'' the boot to have it like a E width??

Ive never seen one person post about a skate problem so much, go to the store, try them on, find what fits best, and buy them, Its not that hard ;)

cobraa i think maybe you should try to wear the skate for more than one an a half hours before giving up. maybe your just sayin less than an hour and a half in the sell post to get more intrest, but you need to give it some time.

Agreed on both accounts. Get whatever "hotspots" which are probably just you needing to break in the boot punched out and use the skate. No skate i've ever worn has felt good in the first half hour of skating.

if you have problems selling the skates maybe consider punching out. but at least skate a good 15-20 hours first, unless your gushing blood or your foot actually doesnt fit in the skate the pain should subside
