best place for case of tape

Recommended Posts

Ebay has had some cartons of tape on sale on the cheap, but I worked out a deal to buy a brand of choice and name in bulk from a store owner.

(and to the owner who sold me the tape? Thanks for the great deal, by the way - you know who you are)

I'm often loyal to a fault with regards to my local hockey store. But when it comes to tape I throw in the towel and go to the closest big box. In my case it's either Costco or the Real Canadian Superstore. Lots of tape...real cheap prices.

JJ

P.S. Having the reputation of being the guy on the team who always has lots of tape means you go through it even faster! It's a vicious circle.

What do you consider real cheap? Most LHS's will sell you a case at a discount. I offer 25% off. Any more than that and you'll see these guys opening their own "mini-store" out of their hockey bags. Sorry, no one needs 80 rolls of tape unless they have sinister thoughts. :P

How many rolls in a case? I may be off on my scales because when I stock pile I'll buy 5-10 packs of 5 rolls each. So that's about 50 rolls of tape at most. (And I'm talking sock tape.)

Most cases are around 100 rolls. Andover sells a 48 roll box of clear tape. I have made bulk tape deals with people in the past but I will not cover the shipping on tape.

My friends dad coached a local High School team, and he had at least 8 boxes of Andover Tape.

If he's giving it away to the players, then that's OK. If he's selling it, then I know an IRS guy that would love to pay him a visit. ;)

Hes not selling it,I was just stating that when he left they gave him all this stuff like jerseys, a whole box of mouthgaurds and alot of tape.My friend gave me a half a box.But they got the tape probally around 98'.Its almost gone now,but I remember he had alot of tape.

You should see the equipment room in my HS varisity locker room.We have 3 huge cabinets.1 filled with clear, blue, white tape ,1 filled with mouthguards, and another filled with white and black laces.

reason I asked... I use it or personal... my supplier is no longer in town.. I split a case with my bud and we went through 54 rolls in less than a year. No selling at all...tape both sticks each game, socks...adds up with 4-5 skates a week

The owner of my LHS acutally encuraged me to buy a box of tape. I bought a box of clear tape that had 48 rolls for $100. I sold half the box to a guy on my team and always keep a few in my bag.

I've sold bulk tape to coaches who don't practice at my rink.
