Shell Question

Can you put a padded shell over a pair of regular hockey pants? I found some cheap pants on ebay but I don't like the color and I found a padded shell on ebay that I want. Just to make sure you put a med shell on a sm pant right?

It's gonna be bulky and tight on the thighs if you do that.

Is the pant you are using now a 2 piece pant? If that's the case, the buttons should line up.

If I have a pair of bauer pro's that are 2 piece, would they be wearable with a girdle and shell combo with CCM, Mission, or Easton?

Girdle's have padding, so, that too would be bulky. Also, not all the time do the buttons line up from brand to brand.

I was talking about the pro-stock 5000's, I thought the inner piece was called the girdle right?

But thanks for letting me know the buttons might not line up.

If they're Bauer or Nike 2 piece pro pants, you can take the padding out, loop a belt or shoelaces through the waist and wear it as you would a shell. It'll still be a little thicker than a plain shell, but it works. I'm assuming you want to wear the pant bottoms because of whatever symbol is on them. If all you want is a shell, you can always cut out whatever pads won't come out.

Another question, how is the padding on the 5000s? Currently, I use some 4000s from Cyclone Taylor, and they are basically just an advantage 900 but with leg zippers. I took a shot in them the other day and they just don't have as much padding as my '02 Easton Z-airs. I have a bruise on my leg bigger than the actual puck.

Can I put just like a regular non-padded Bauer Medium shell over a Tackla 951 Adv. in Size 48?

Can you try it in the store and see how it feels? Secondly, why would you want to do that? Is it an aesthetic thing? Or do you want to trick everyone into thinking you have Bauer pants, when really, you've got Tacklas hiding under there? "Suckers! Fooled you all!"
