It's all PP---I don't like grips because they make it harder to slide my hand up and down when stickhandling.

Negative: The Grip around where you slide your lower hand will start to peel and flake off in about a week or two :(

You've had that happen, Notorious?

I know our "grip" is actually a thin layer of plastic that covers the paint. I just looked at mine, which I've used once a week for nine months, and I don't see any hint of flaking. I would imagine other manufacturers make their sticks similarly, so it doesn't seem like they should be flaking.

Negative vs positive? Grip sticks make it more difficult to slide your hands, particularly if your glove has a grip surface. Conversely, I agree that perhaps it creates a firmer grip for taking shots.

Yeah, at least on all the Easton grip sticks I have used. Happened on my Si-core and Synergy grips, and on a Z-bubble grip that I bought from a friend. Also happened on both the M-1 Grips I have owned. The grip literally just flakes right off. It diddn't really bug me, I thought it was normal on the Synergys. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this problem.

In my experience, Inno soft grip seems to hold up really well.

I can't say that relates to my experience. Skated with one on mine like 3 times, and the whole upper part had flaked off by my top hand.

Maybe you have had bad luck with grip sticks but I've had barely any issues at all with peeling, except for a XX which indeed peeled within the first week.. But as sayed, personal preference is a major factor in the stick department..

Pros - Alows more control to those who are acustom to grip, firmer handeling and greater feel for the shaft..

Cons - Less mobility of hand movement to a small degree on the shaft and, in a bad case, peeling of grip layering..
