Bauer Shins (Supreme 6000)

One year ago I bought these bauer Supreme 6000 shin pads:

Last night I blocked a shot and now there is a hug vertical crack on the knee part just under the Bauer logo. AAARGH!

In the summer I play 2 times a week, and in the winter it's 3-4 times per week. I didn't think the shot was THAT hard, but I do have a small bruise.

Any one else experience the same thing?

Man, the last thing I want to do right now is shell out for new shins!

I know it's dumb, but I'm tempted to duct tape it. Remind me why I shouldn't do this again <_<

You might just block another shot in the same spot. ;)

maybe you could take a piece of strong plastic (polycarbonate is good, same stuff they make nalgenes from) and superglue a small section of it on the crack (behind the shell) and sand down the corners of it. the smartest choice would probably to get new shin pads (or maybe just one shin pad? )
