twiztidwrista10 3 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 So I wont be able to watch a lot of NHL games, but we got a AHL team here now so im gonna watch them a lot. I was just wondering what players to watch in the AHL this year? Who are the real standouts? What team do they play for?

Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 Wellwood if he comes down. Colaiacovo is hit and miss. I really like Ian White. Those are the Marlies guys I'd keep an eye on. Ling scores alot, but is older. A few people like Racine (goalie) and Ondrus as well.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Derek Roy is back in Rochester...he should tear it up.Jozef Blaej in Manitoba...he'll be a scorer.Andrei Kostitsyn in Hamilton.I'm told Hamilton's D should be very good. Dany Syvret (London Knights) is a Hamilton native...that should be good for a few fans per game.Jordin Tootoo in Milwaukee. The players Eazy mentioned in Toronto
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Montreal and Edmonton are split again this year?
McCabe24 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 It was Montreal and Dallas last year, not sure if it has changed for this season and that was only a transitional thing or not but if it is the same Dallas is only able to provide six players.
tokes 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Montreal and Edmonton are split again this year? Yeah, the Edmonton Road Runners folded after they realized nobody would watch AHL hockey in town when there's the big team.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Not a straight split...similar to the Tampa/Dallas affiliations in the last few years. Edmonton will send 5-6 players plus a goalie to Hamilton. So far Hamilton has:Jean-Francois Jacques (F)Marc-Antoine Pouliot (F) Yes, Crosby's linemate from Rimouski last yearMathieu Roy (F)Dan Smith (D)Danny Syvret (D)&Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers (G)Should make it fun... Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted October 14, 2005 Leafs should try to make roster room for Wellwood. From the games I have seen he looks ready to make it to the next level and has not warrented getting thrown out of the lineup. It's a little tough. Steen and Stajan play PK minute, basically the reason they are allowed on the team.Sundin, Allison,, Chow, O'Neil, Lindros, Tucker, Antropov take up scoring roles. Antropov and Poni kill penalties, Domi's spots locked and Kilger plays PK as well. His role is filled right now. I'd take him over The Polish Prince, and want him on the team, but Quinn's always been fond of guys like Kilger and Domi. He has to force someone out, and that'll be hard, although Marius was a HS last game.
