Crosby's "Vision"

I was watching TSN and they had one of those "Mic'ed up" segments with Sidney Crosby v. Tampa from Sat.

He's sitting on the bench and yells over to Palfy..."Ziggy...support me when I go into the corner...we gotta get some pressure or something..."

soon after that...Crosby goes to the corner...Ziggy stays close...Sid flips it back, and Palfy scores.

Then...Crosby sitting next to LeClair. As the play goes bys:

Crosby: "His stick is broken...it's gonna break on the next shot"

LeClair: "Who?"

Crosby: "Richards"

Then Richards takes a pass...goes to shoot....stick snaps.

Cut back to the bench...Crosby laughing..."what did I tellya???"

The kid is watching the game and seeing things and thinking all the time.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the miced up players...great insight into the game.

Thought some of you guys might get a kick out of this...

*LOL* hadn't thought of that...but I dont' think so...it looked like he saw/heard something that made him think it was broken...

Maybe it wasn't that unusual an occurance, I'm sure guys talk and observe on the bench all the time...but now, with players wearing mics....we get to hear it...

Probably like the coach sending somone out there with an old wooden axe, then the player comes back on the bench and says "watch this next shot" and then watch the guy fall flat on his kisser as his stick is 20 feet in the air.

This miced up player thing is very neat, i'd like to see it.

It's part of the league's "more access for the fans" promise. I know TSN has done it for some games...Spezza was miced on opening night...Hull was in one game (can't remember what game).

Maybe if you go to tsn.ca and go to the That's Hockey page, there may be some video clips. You have to sign up...but it's free.

The center ice feed of the tampa game was horribly produced, and there were time when the screen when black, like it was going to a commmercial and they didn't actually go away but they left the audio and you could hear Recchi getting in between ziggy and crosby because crosby was riding Ziggy. You also missed Crosby throw a little temper tantrum after his 4min penalty. I don't think those segments made it on TSN :D

well it was FSN pittsburgh producing the content for UPN pittsburgh. There were commercials just at the wrong times or late. The whole crosby diatribe seemed to occur when they were editing his audio to produce the segment at the end of the intermission before the 3rd period. It was pretty funny, but frustrating too when they would cut to a commercial at the beginning of a powerplay and come back 30 seconds later :angry:

Back when I got the hockey package on my old primestar dish (anyone else remember them?) we only got the raw feeds of every game. Same with the original NHL.com audio feeds, you got to hear a lot of stuff that never gets said on TV.

God i wish i lived in canada....

Our beer is better too...don't forget that.

Nothing against other beers ( i love beer and on my avatar im chuggin down a bud) but boy do i agree

on the hockey side, i wish they'd show hockey games over here in the philippines as well
