Itech h22 wave

Recommended Posts

Chadd: I know your playing with the H22 Wave shield, so I have a question...

I play with a Bauer 4000 helmet, and currently use a banged up Oakley Modified aviator visor.

Took a huge slashing to the face so now it's completly ruined. Was pretty scratched up before (1½ years of use) but now there's a deep cut over the middle, so I'm thinking about replacing it.

Noticed visors fit lower and closer to the face on 4000 helmet's, so was wondering how it would fit?

And would you recommend the wave shield, performance/fit wise, or is there perhaps another visor that's better (e.g. Itech Aviator cut?).

Thanks in Advance. B)

I have a big nose, so I have to go with wave/aviator style visors. I'm just not a big fan of the Itech aviator cut. Combined with my Jofa 690 I look like a real goofball, but it works for me. You should be ok with the 4000 and the HS22 wave or aviator combo. I just put a straight HS22 on a 4000 for a kid last week and it was fine. The determining factor will be your facial shape.

I wear a 4000 and Tinted Pro Wave setup and love it(other than the pain in the ass it was to install). Sits perfectly in relative to my face. Like chadd said though, its all on how your face is shaped.

Have a thin face with a bigass nose :P

Play inline so I sweat alot, what would you suggest Chad aviator or wave?

And how do they compare fogging wise to Oakley? (namely the pro modified)

I found that with my largish nose and relatively small head that the HS22 Prowave sat too close. Any type of hit on the shield would cause a cut or bruise to the bridge of my nose. I went to the Oakley modified aviator and haven't looked back since.

Hi

similar question:

Does a Itech hs22 straight cut shield fit on a CCM 652 helmet (mine is a very old CCM HT2, but should be the same?)? Or will the shield stand out too far?

Has anyone a picture of that combo?

I have no fogging problems at all with my pro wave. The only Oakleys I used for the last few years were straight smalls and I had no real issues with them either. I don't like the Itech Aviator, I prefer the wave.

Your helmet must sit pretty low on your head. With my 690 the top of the visor is level with the top of the face cut-out of the helmet and it doesn't come close to my nose at all.

Had both the Straight cut and modified Oakley to begin with.

Disliked the straight cut, thought it was too small and impaired my vision (when looking down) because the bottom of the shield was higher up compared to the modified.

How is the wave when looking down at your feet under the glass, is it more distractive performance wise than the Oakley's or Itech aviator would be?

Actually more into periphiel performance on my visor than the non-goofball factor ;)

It was the bottom of the visor anytime the shield got knocked back a little.

I don't even notice that I'm wearing a visor with the wave and I don't particularly care for visors. I wear them out of need, not because I like them.

I understand what the problem was, but for me the helmet sits a little higher. If I had gone with the straight cut I would have had the same problems.
