All White Pads

Recommended Posts

thats the pic i found too chadd, i think its holt, also fedor was dealt to hartford/NYR.

mike i honestly think that the white pads are so distracting as a shooter, like its so hard to tell where the end in the net, they look much bigger, almost hurt the eyes IMO my friend is thinking about going with the smiths. do you guys think it would be a kick to mr smiths nuts if my friend asked for everything in white even the logo?

He just had little bits of red between the horizontal rolls. It broke up the all white a little bit and added some color.

EDIT:

Well Smith Hockey has the SP 3000 pads that has all the same feautures of the velos but no fancy graphics and you can pick either black or white whatever that suits your friend. :) (no nuts kicking involved  ) and if u need the website here you go Smith Hockey

im sorry for my ignorance, but why would anyone want white pads?

is it just for pure aesthetics?

wouldn't it be better if it was all black to match the colour of the puck and so if a rebound is loose, it'll be harder for the opposing team to find the puck? having said that, same can be said to the goalie's team as well...

I prefer lighter coloured gear, because it is easier to find the puck when it is in my gear. I would never buy gear with a hope of "confusing" my opponents. I do what I can to improve MY game.

Just one puck magnet's opinion. Your mileage may vary.

well some of the guys and i are trying to convince our ever so unreliable netminder, who is in the market for new pads, to go all white. when i worked retail we did a custom pair of vaughns that were all white with only the word "vaughn" in hartford green, very sharp IMO. he has been over here with me looking around at the eagle, vaughn, and rbk webpages and we both agree that rbk's custom site is the best, even though it is sub par. so i guess im asking if anyone has any model all white, pics of all whites, know of pros, or anything of that nature to post them up, thanks, mike

warrior37...How is your goalie making out in his quest for new pads? Did you sell him on the all white idea? Has he decided on any brand? We need an update... :)

haha funny you should ask, its a pretty hairy situation actually. he really likes itech stuff only because his favorite tender is T Salo (dont ask) so he all about those itech pads. when ever we go to the store he likes the velo/velo 2s, so im almost forcing him to go smith, ahhh its a work in progress.......on a side note last game had 3 points, goalies beware!

Scarey, you're from Port Alberni? How long have you lived there? I grew up in Port and moved to Vancouver for school a few years back.

I've lived there all my life... yah I hope to make our Bulldogs this year or even the rockets this year

Well your timing is good. Smith happens to have a pair of 34" and a pair of 36" all white pads currently in stock.

Smith "In Stock" Page.

Normally it's all built to order, so you could save yourself what is usually a 6-8 week lead time wait. Providing of course your goalie needs either 34" or 36" pads. :P

btw...My wife scored "4" :o goals last Saturday AND she got two penalties in her first game in the women's league she just joined. I think she's almost leading the league in penalty minutes after just one game. SO EVERYONE BEWARE...lol...

LOL and they were on you! :P

But of course... :P

She always shoots against me because the other goalie isn't "challenging" enough. (or at all on some nights). She's getting really good since the last time you seen her, she's outscoring the guys on her team!

And I don't just mean "some" of the guys, she's outscoring "all" of the guys.

btw: when are we gonna see you for a game again?

netminder32, i noticed in the holiday wish list thread you say the bruises are from one pieces, have you or any other goalie here really noticed a difference now that most everyone uses a OPS, oh and i talked to my friend today (he actually lives across the road) and idea of the smiths is good to him, but hes thinking white with either some black or silver trim on them, either way i will still let all know what he gets, hopefully for christmas

I was just kidding about the one pieces. I don't notice any difference from the sticks. Players either have a shot or they don't...

That having been said, I've been playing with some better calibre players lately and have been feeling the shots through the chest and arm. Ironically, most of these guys are just using the cheapest sticks they can get. Wood or inexpensive one pieces...
