Vishi05 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I was deadly with that curve between the circles.. shit everywhere else. Yeah, I've got a friend I play with that is a great player, but if he is more than 10 feet from the net, his shot has about a 25% chance of being on net. You played on the Thrashers at Anaheim, right? My guess is you're talking about Sebastien. Haha, yeah... We give him shit about it all the time Kid's a stud though.. hard shot and a bull on the puck. ponty 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I am using this pattern now - Pro Belanger.Simply put last night I was 3 feet away from an open net. Similar to Chadd I got nothing but net. The net over the glass that is.Its time for a change.
duckjob 1 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Oh absolutely, sea bass is the shit. Once he gets going, you can't catch him or take him off the puck. He doesn't miss as often as we give him crap for it, but he does have an absolute cannon.
Vishi05 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Definitely on my top 10 list of pain in the asses to play against but love to have him on my team.
jbyun04 7 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 i find that it's great to stickhandle with, I can do toedrags and I can move the puck very well with it. For shooting, it works really well for me, I can aim very well with it and that being said it's my ideal curve. Like mentioned before, it is all about PP. Some people can't shoot accurately or stickhandle but others can. I think you'd be better off with a Shanahan blade...in my opinion.I tried the Lidstrom blade a while back and EVERYTHING was going high....everything....passes, shots,...etc. i actually came from a shanahan a while ago and it was my fav curve for the longest time till I tried a Sakic/Naslund and a Lidstrom/Samsonov. If Gagne is the same as Shanahan I wouldn't mind giving it another shot.

I took some of my old ones and slowly made them into things that would make the Arnotts look "cute." I could roof pucks from the goal line now, but I'm kind of gunshy to try a slapshot. Gagne (P10) Is the CLOSEST if not exact of the Shanny that I've been able to find....and I've tried LOTS!! =)
DarkStar50 679 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I use a lidstrom, I play defence, I have no problem stick handling, shooting from the blueline or down in the hash marks on the rush. If the shooter turns his wrists over the blade/curve is no big deal at all. If I want to roof the puck I follow through face up. The other night I was 30 feet out in between the hash marks, took a wrist shot, turned over my wrists and fired the puck on the ice off one post, then the other ,then in. I don't do this every shot but I think proper technique solves all problems. I can back hand pucks out of my zone along the wall any day with this curve as well. It is one of the only square toe, totally flat bottom patterns in retail.
Keith 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 If you like parking yourself in front of the net or do all of your shooting from a very specific range, wedges are the greatest.

DarkStar50 679 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 BTW, anyone ever see Al MacInnis' actual game stick? He was here for practice about 5 years ago. I looked at his Sher-wood stick up close and it was a wedge blade all the way. This guy played D with this curve and owned the hardest slapshot in the league. Its not the curve, its the shooter. It's not that I like parking there and getting hacked to pieces, I just don't like skating.

It's not that I like parking there and getting hacked to pieces, I just don't like skating. Actually, I kind of like battling in front of the net with the d-men or having the goalie try to move me. It let's me know I'm in the right spot if I'm pissing them off. :D
mack 44 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 I don't mind the normal hacks someone will take there, but the league I play in tends to have a lot of Hextalls and Marchments. I usually brush most of it off but I've broken twigs over ankles.
