 Alright, I'm looking to get a snowboard this year, and was just wondering which one to get and why/how it feels while riding. I've narrowed it down to 2 boards, but suggestions are definitely welcome. I don't want to jump into this blindly, which is why I'm asking. there are no shops around where I live anymore, so I'm forced to buy online. Thanks alot guys.

Go with Never Summer. They've got a board for about every type of riding. The feel and response is excellent and you can't beat the 3-year warranty. I got the SL last season and have been extremely impressed with it

Go with a versatile board. I ride an Atomic Alibi, it does the trick everywhere. Or a Burton Custom/Custom X.

I have the Burton Custom and is definatley worth checking out. Its a bit pricey but well its good for everything.

I definatley agree on that. Also, tell us what you need the most. Do you ride the parks, or just runs? Tell us what you want in a board.

Do you want a freeride or freestyle board?

Either one. I'm looking to spend around $250 +/- $10.

What are you looking to do most? Where do you go? and whats your skill level?...I work in a ski shop btw.

I'll probably hang out most in the park with some of my friends. I'll most likely be going to Mountain Creek. I actually haven't gone in a 2 years as it conflicted with hockey, and I couldn't afford it at the time, so I've probably gone a little downhill skillwise.

Or a Burton Custom/Custom X.

I was actually looking at those, but they are way out of my price range :( .

I'll have to take a look at Atomic and Never Summer. Do you guys know where I can take a look at these?

I've got a K2 Fat Bob because I have big feet... I don't know if you have like size 12+ feet, but if you do make sure you get a wide board, most companies have a wide model I think.

man..I'd really say check out when the demo days are going to be at the Creek, etc..

I've always been a Burton guy ...but things like Lib Tech(loved the old Emmagator and Emma Peel), Never Summer and all the brands mentioned will be solid..

for that priceline..check out some of the prior year's models ..Scandanavian had a big sale last weekend, Blades, Princeton (do they still have the big sale at Meadowlands?) Ski Barn, Paragon and a million others should all have some good deals on closeouts..

I was looking at the Lib Tech and Never Summer boards, and thought I found what I was looking for in the SL, until I looked again for prices. At the moment, it looks like I getting the Honey Circle, but still considering other options. The Atomic Hatchet is in second place right now, with the Ride right behind it.

Try a Nitro. If you go to http://the-house.com , some are only $199. Im riding a Nitro griffin right now, I prefer Millenium Three boards, but I dont have the money to spend $400-450 every 2 years on a new board. if your looking for boots and binding I recommend Drake and ThirtyTwo.

Yeah I know about The-House. It's a great site, that's where I'd get the Ride board from, and I've looked at the Nitro boards there. I kind of steered clear as I and none of my friends knew anything about them  I guess I should look deeper  I also already got my eye on a pair of DC Park boots and Burton Freestyle bindings, but thanks for the recomendations.

Id stay clear of Burton Bindings,my friend almost broke his leg becuase of them .He went to carve and the back part snapped. He had them for a week and they werent Cheap either. Nitro,Ride,Drake,Technine,Forum are all very good bindings to look into.

Don't worry about your bindings snapping unless the heelcup is made of plastic. Good bindings have metal heelcups, so there's no worry.

It wasnt the Heel Cup that broke,it was the bolts on the back and that part that supports your back of your leg cracked in half. The guy at the ski shop even said it happened to a couple other people

Thanks to all that responded. The advice was much appreciated. I went with the Honey Circle because it was in my price range, cheaper than the other ones and my size was in stock. Once again, thanks to all.

Thinking about grabbing a new pair of freeride wrecking stix. There's nothing like being able to plow someone with a wall of snow at the bottom of a run, something I can't do on a snowboard. For some reason, the snow doesn't fly as fast/furious with a board.
